At least you'll have yours tomorrow, mine won't be here till Wednesday, oh well, I'll probably just look it over and toss on the shelf for later anyway but definitely anxious to get my hands on it
I know HRB has 2 warehouses and thankfully one of them is only 8 hours away from me. Tbh I expected to get it today. They reached my city this morning and are just letting it sit there for a day
Wow - I'm obviously a noob when it comes to brushless - I always saw the 825 motor as utterly bonkers for the Kronos XTR. In the Asuga though? Is a 1/7th scale buggy about the same heft as a Kronos XTR? 🤔

I don't feel there's any shortage of 'go' with the Corally electronics, but they certainly get hot quick and the motor requires cooling fans.

4092 motors are supposed to have a lot more power and can be geared up more because they generate more torque. The 825 motor is a 3000w motor (4hp) the 4092 are anywhere between 4000-4200w (5.3-5.6hp). Insane amounts of power.

Personally, for the XTR, I wouldn't be keen to add more power like this if it also meant adding more weight. It's kinda in the sweet spot for me where it is I reckon.
The asuga is about a lb and a half lighter which is probably mostly due to the tire difference. Man if 4k is insane the tp is a pure monster. Max Power (W): 7000 for 10 seconds.
Think the asuga needs more power then the Kuron 825. Simple because it is bigger then for example the Radix6. And yes it gets hot.

This was 100% my reasoning. I bet the rtr electronics are really good but I want to gear up for 75 mph or so and not worry about heat as much. That was also my main reason for not going max 6. In my experience the mmx8s runs a helluva lot cooler.

Good thing I'm not a racer :ROFLMAO:

I get 62mph out of my Kronos XTR using the 825 on XTR gearing. If the Asuga is a 1.5lb lighter, it's going to be faster even on the Corally Electronics. If people shoehorn 7000w into this thing, it's going to exceed 100mph, surely? 🤯

No experience with Mamba Monster X or HW. I know Corally (what needs a fan 2 keep it cool) is a rebranded Hobbywing. What i want is power and a cool motor. Speed, ofc but it needs to be controlable. Would love not to run a fan on the motor.

Quickly put together with a tp 4040 3770kv until the real motor is here Friday. About to go test it soon as lipo finishes. Probably going to be 29f outside but I sure don't have the patience to wait until tomorrow. 🤣

Any issues with that MMX8S? Looks like you have the full battery box and didn't have to the car sides any
Its definitely squeezed in there tight and is poking against the side guard. It works but I might end up nipping a piece off at some point anyway.

Only got to test it for a very short amount of time as it was freezing outside. My fat ass SMC dv extreme 6300 mah packs barely fit too. It felt really nice and smooth to drive. Definitely happy so far with my first TC.

That is some serious speed. Nice!

Very cool!

I was trying to hold off because I wasn't sure how the MMX8S would fit.

How much space do you think is open between that TP and the chassis, or what's the largest diameter you think would fit with the stock mount?

The body appears to come straight back, so snipping some of that angle plastic on the chassis wouldn't hurt much

My motor is 4074 and it looks like there might be about 8mm of space between the motor and the closes part of the side guard. I definitely think I'm going to have to cut a piece off to fit my 4092.

Interesting servo for the Asuga. Anyone run this plus version? Any thoughts?
I think it has way more torque than you need in a buggy yet it's on the slower side.

You can get that servo for 40$ on sale like every other week and it's FAST and plenty of power for even MT tires. Tbh it's almost too fast for me lol. I love those hobbystar servo, things are amazing and brushless is apparently better than coreless.

Thanks for the advise but cant get them here in Europe.

A little size comparison for those curious. It's very light, granted no electronics in it yet but weights the same as my python @ 8lb 13oz, xtr is 12lbs 7oz.

Oh, and a max6 will fit, it's touching center brace and side guard but fits, not what I'll be running in it though

Interesting. Maybe i am gonna make it lighter with carbon and stuff. The opposite what i did to my Sketer. But in the end i know myself and i will make it heavier 🤔

19t pinion is the max that will fit with stock center diff -_- That is the most disappointing thing I've found so far. They should have included a 46t center diff instead, like all the other buggies. People warned me but I totally forgot about it lol.

See you got a bit cut out to fit the motor? What size will fit not cutting it out? Can you measure it maybe?
I think a 4082 may but not 100% sure, I stuffed a 4985 in to see and it fit but was touching and allowed for no adjustment of motor mount so thinking the 4082 would work but may not be able to go max pinion?
