Because postage and shipping bags aren't free. They wouldn't ship them internationally in paper envelopes because the springs could easily tear the paper enroute.
Neither is driving 4 miles to the post office. Or the 8% Ebay fee.

If I sold them at £3.30, which we have been quite transparent about, I would be running at >£2.50 loss per spring at national level, >£4.50 at Europe zone 1, and >£5.50 at World zone 1.

So yes, please feel free to sell the next batch of springs at £3.30.

As an aside:- the 12mm x 20mm X Hard springs by arrma are £6.18 + shipping - and are too small. Otherwise, we'd already be running them, rather than getting batches direct from the manufacturer.

So if I'd raised anyone's hopes of providing these springs internationally - to France, Austria and Switzerland at a negative margin - I'm very sorry. What I actually said was 'at cost' - which unfortunately has to include fees, stationary and postage.

Funnily enough, there are no UK buyers and I'm nearly sold out already. 🇬🇧😁

Found the spring in my mailbox today! Thank you Horatio for the speedy delivery!(y) I'll make sure to follow your advice on mounting it properly, sometimes in the coming days.

That's great! 3 working days is good going. Cheers for letting me know. Fit and forget - can't see anyone needing a firmer spring than this. 😁💪
 
So this evening, I attempted to beat my personal bests with my Kronos XTR.

Surface temperature was a very pleasant 74°F (23°C)

Obvious steering improvement made it much more confidence inspiring during 0-60mph tests. I shot some video of the sticky JetKo road tyres being swung from lock to lock on tarmac.

Top speed once again was 62mph, so without a gearing change, this isn't going to improve.

Whilst I did beat my 0-60mph time, it was only by 100th of a second!

This graph shows 0.85g - which resulted in a wheelie before the truck had hit 30mph.

That being said, the general tracking and centering seemed to make overall driving more predictable, improving average corner speeds and feel. This in part was also down to reducing the toe-out from 3° to 1°.

Basically, I spent more time driving the car like I stole it, and less time wrestling with wandering steering.

The session was going so well, I was utterly surprised when I managed to lose a wheel under braking on my 4th speed run! 😂 Thankfully I found the nut on the half mile stretch and put it back on. My front left hub now has a road rash!

Next purchase - serrated, closed wheel nuts!

Tyre temps:
Front 102°F (39°C)
Rear 84°F (29°C)

Motor temp 162°F (72°C)

So, realising that better batteries, taller gearing, bearing prep and a fresh motor will likely see my XTR see some higher speeds, I contemplated the realities of forcing this truck to go even faster. Then on my trip back home, I passed an area with huge mounds of gravel........my stock tyres are going back on before these mounds are taken away!

More speed can wait for now. Catching air and leaving roost trails is really what this awesome machine is all about.
 
Hi all, I mentioned in another thread that I ordered 5 of the servo saver springs recommended in this thread from Lee Spring to fix the weak steering in my Muraco. I'm gonna keep one extra just in case but I don't need the other 3. I just couldn't stomach paying the ridiculous handling and shipping charge to buy one spring. I'll throw them on eBay at cost tonight or tomorrow. I don't want to break any forum rules linking directly to it so feel free to DM me if interested.

Great listing! I'm surprised that more people haven't come back to this thread to detail how much better the steering is once this spring is fitted.

It's 100% better.

If people in the UK want these, let me know and I'll buy another batch. 🇬🇧👍

Good deal, mine showed yesterday so I spent the 15 minutes and installed one in the jambo, waiting on some other parts then I'll get the one out in the kronos, haven't tested it but definitely feels good

I bought 3 off a guy here, it was all he had, unfortunately I have 6 corally's so was only enough to do half of them but yes, it's well worth the upgrade, steering is no longer a suggestion, it's solid and precise

I’ve not any experience tbh but if it helps the servo (I have ordered a couple of aftermarket ones) I’m all in. I’ll keep one spare and give one to a neighbour so will have 3 or 4 I can sell on, if you need any let me know 👍🏻
