So this is interesting.... I got the replacement cups... and the color of the spring steel is much darker than stock. Check it out

Nice. I'm gonna fix mine tonight. In the meantime I'm running my talion.... thing's a beast! But can't wait to get the sketer back in tip top shape. The diffs seem to be really simple on the sketer which I like

They were still ok, I'll gonna change them with the next diff-fluid-service…

But, you are right, I've seen better bearings on other models. Apart from that I really do appreciate, that TC only uses one type of bearings. On a Axial RR10 you have 5 different ones (I think)

Very true. I'm fool enough to be running one each of 7 different makes of rigs🤣🤣
I need to stock more sizes than the LHS🤣🤣

I received the warranty parts today from corally... with something to sweeten the experience lol. I dealt with someone named Stefan who was very nice and helpful. Honestly while the defective pieces are a pain... makes me feel better about corally knowing they'll do right and not make things impossible!!! Credit is due

Customer service is what it's all about. Things happen, how they deal with them is key. Glad they took care of you.

Yeah the bloke is spot on, he regularly contributes to the largest Corally FB group. Do any of the other big brands get involved like that? I'm new to this (relatively) and have had a Maverick Strada and 12 months ago the Radix 6, which has been brilliant mostly.

I think Jason Deardon of Arrma does the same. He likewise seems like a genuine guy who has a real passion for the hobby and interacting with users. I've seen him do multiple interviews and also post on Facebook and elsewhere

@Mr. Fring any updates on the replacement parts? Been a bit, was curious whether you had a chance to install and use them? I am seeing some similar wear on my '21 xtr since switching from 4s to 6s..the front and rear center shafts and cups are wearing unusually fast, as are the rear diff outdrives.

I did receive warranty parts from corally. .. they sent me both center driveshafts (front and rear) and center diff cups. I have replaced all of that. I've run probably a dozen batteries through since repairs were completed - I'll take some pics later. It seems to be holding up. I haven't yet done the front and rear cups as it's a lot bigger job. But my worst were at the center.

What's strange is I have a radix that i run on 6s and it's got the 'regular' steel cups and I'm not seeing the benefits of the spring steel. They seem to be wearing equally as fast. I'm not sure if maybe there was a batch of spring steel parts that weren't hardened properly.

I'll take a few pics later and share to show how the new cups are holding up!

That's good to hear. Not sure why I'm experiencing the wear on my '21 model either, besides switching to the spring steel on the '22 xtr TC also introduced new part numbers for the front and rear center drive shafts that are each a tad shorter than the original parts. This may be a part of my issues, not sure.
I'll have to get some pictures ..
Last friday my brother and I were doing some "track bashing" as we call it. Just racing each other on a track we made at my house. I had my xtr(back on 4s) at full throttle on a straight away when it just locked up..of course he proceeded to slam into the back of me with his e revo🤣🤣
I thought perhaps I overheated the motor and it locked up. Nope, one of the screws holding the spur to the center diff backed out. Did some fine milling on the motor moint before backing out far enough to bend over and lock it up completely. So after I figured out what the actual problem was, I pulled the motor and center diff out and was shocked how worn all the center drive line parts are..shafts, cups are so bad that the entire drive surges with no load while running the motor. Weird. I think the excessive offset that TC uses on the drive line is making things wear so quickly.

I think I've seen others with some diff cup issues too. Seems like a potential weak point? Not sure why... maybe they can come up with a new cup design to strengthen key areas. I understand purposefully making the driveshafts pins weaker so they fail before the cups but it seems like there's a little too many instances of unusual wear on the cups for it to be considered isolated.

Not sure what to make of the cup wear either, seems too common to just be a bad batch. I mean sure, perhaps a bad batch of the bronze colored spring steel got out, but the ones I have are not the spring steel. To put it into perspective, I have an Arrma kraton exb with a Max6/4092 combo running 6s exclusively, and on backflip MT tires which are quite a bit heavier than the backflip LP's I run on the TC xtr. My kronos xtr has been run on backflip lp's since day one... So, way more motor, tire and 6s on the Arrma and literally no visible wear on the drive line parts. Similar results with my mojave exb. Mind you the mojave does have much smaller tires, but there is definitely a difference in the metals between the two manufacturers.
I think I'm going to have to pick up the updated '22 xtr drive line parts to try when finances allow me to. I REALLY like the way the xtr drives compared to the kraton, so I really want to find a resolution to the drive line issues..

Can you explain the difference in driving the K6 versus the XTR?
