Looking nice H! šŸ‘ šŸ¤©

Itā€™s so nice once you get down to those last few things! lol, after 8 years here we are still adding things.

For what itā€™s worth, Iā€™ve been happy with the Workpro Benches. Iā€™ve got no idea what species the top is made from but itā€™s held up well. Itā€™s built a little better than I excepted and itā€™s not the prettiest girl at the dance but itā€™s easy to adjust and it saved me a ton of $$$ as well.

My only complaint would be that itā€™s a little narrow. Donā€™t get me wrong, you can get a 1/8 truck on it without issue, but that will take up the entire area in front of you. Thats kind of why I added the 2nd table. IMO, 2ā€- 4ā€ deeper would be perfect! šŸ‘

Seems like the kittyā€™s are liking their new digs as well! šŸ‘
I really think they look good. Then again, my benches are made from 10 year old reclaimed pool deck materials, LOL. I used 4x4 for legs, 2x6 for framing. Major overkill, LOL. Wood was free, mostly, I did have to help my FIL dismantle and cart away the deck.. I actually made mine a bit too deep, even at 6' tall, I have a hard time reaching items at the back of the tall bench. I don't recall how tall it is, but it's perfect for working on rc's while standing. One is around 8ft long, the other bench is around 10-12' long, but shorter in height. I wouldn't put either of them in the living space though,LOL. Wife would skin me!! She's the OCD neat freak, thankfully, otherwise I might have a hard time finding fresh undies in the morning!!šŸ˜œšŸ»

Well we're finally having some semblance of normality at home. My MIL is doing well. šŸ˜

Blinds have been fitted today. New carpets are being fitted for stairs and landing - and that's the house done.

However, that just leaves my work bench situation. For logistical reasons, the one I built at my previous address was not disassembled and brought here.

So I'm looking at getting a new one.

I'm very tempted with this one:

But prior to finding this Eucalyptus bench, I was fairly set on a steel bench - like this one:

What do you guys think?

Hmm...wood is always nice, but I like how I can hammer things (RC or otherwise - snigger) with reckless abandon on a steel table.

If there isn't much hammering going on nowadays, then wood seems to bring a certain comfort to the workshop. I dunno...it just feels more cozy with wood.

Not that I'd charge lipos on a wooden workstation, though. šŸ˜¬

šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ You are far from an A-hole - you're without a doubt - one of the most consistent and polite forum members I've chatted with.

Ditto for CCB. I think there's a similar way of thinking between a lot of us here, despite the pond, different nationalities etc. The Corally forum is definitely one of the more chilled sites.

I work with a well organised mess in my Garage. In the house, my OCD wife is very particular about everything, so over the years I've been fanny-whipped into line. šŸ¤£

I'd like to just buy my bench (possibly 2 smaller benches) this time, because I need stuff ready to go straight away.

Size-wise, I had a decent sized 1600 x 900 x 900 space. It was a good height to work at. Easy for my Baja, lawnmowers/strimmers, machining, drilling, large scale aircraft etc. It was multi use. Built from a reclaimed breakfast bar with Formica top and a sturdy frame made from partition wall stud, it was good to hold 400-500kg.

Space for vice on the curved end. It served me well since 2017 and perhaps I should have just taken it to bits and brought it with me. šŸ¤”

The Workpro bench would save me a ton of money though. Right at a time when we've been splurging money left, right and centre. šŸ’ŖšŸ‘šŸ¤©

It would be nice to have some money left over for boys toys! šŸ˜

Speaking of which - Ā£780 of stair and landing carpets is being fitted tomorrow.

Blinds were fitted today.

Now that's looking like a nice and proper resting place. Cat approved, so that's saying something.(y)

What the hell is wrong with you people? Workbench?! Pah! I use the kitchen counter.
And if it gets dirty i just get the hose and be done with it!
Okay sure, my wife ain't too happy about it but hey, gotta make sacrifices, right ? šŸ¤£

Now imagine this - but with a 5ft, blue eyed, brunette, very angry celt with a war cry - that would be the consequences if I ever pulled that stunt!! šŸ¤£

Why does this remind me of the movie "downsizing" i watched yesterday? šŸ¤”
But yeah, my wife is about the same size, so i'm familiar with angry smurfs šŸ¤£

lol, If I tried this, I wouldnā€™t stand a chance. You wouldnā€™t even see her coming.

Oh, and by the way, you better put the Kellogg's away!!

Took the T2E out for a spin today. All seems good - however - randomly, MMX is doing 2 short beeps and not delivering full throttle. šŸ¤”

Wiring and drive train are all good, battery is freshly charged, although it's the first run in 2 months.

I've re-calibrated the ESC, but still getting random 2 beeps.

Other times, I'm literally pulling wheelies. I'll have a good look tomorrow, but I can't find any mechanical reason behind this glitch. It's Castle related though. I might try the Onyx battery and see if it still happens.

Sorry to hear. I don't speak Castle, sorry brother. I'm sure you'll get it sorted. Good luck!šŸ¤žšŸ‘

Could be a few things, 2 short beeps basically mean the motor hasn't found its "position" in a given amount of time, I believe it's like .100 of a second or something, so in a nutshell it could be seeing a slight cog due to gearing, wheel size, vehicle weight etc, another possibly is esc settings, default has punch at zero which transfers 100% of the batteries capability so you may be getting a voltage sag that temporarily drops below lvc which will give the lack of full throttle, i set punch on most of mine in the 30-50% range and find that similar to max on a hobbywing which is plenty aggressive for me, gotta get yourself castle link, the data provided would give some insight as to what's going on

Right you are - I'm on it. I'm going to try the Onyx soon. If it doesn't do it with that battery, then it has to be the punch setting. Getting the 'free' Castlelink sounds like something I should already have done. šŸ˜…

Didn't do it with either battery back in February when it was 0Ā°C, so not sure why it mess me around now. šŸ¤” Typical RC issue. šŸ¤£šŸ˜

Lol, yeah I know all about your "free" castle link and totally understandable why you don't have it yet! It is a necessary tool though, if nothing else just for the basics as a lot is set very tame by default, aside from the battery fire default punch setting that is

In between - when it wasn't doing the double beep - there was enough power to easily wheelie the T2E, so it was doing it intermittently. This made me wonder if anything weird was going on with the driveline - but it's silky smooth.

I literally have no idea why my battery would suddenly be below 65c. I guess it might just be old!

Hey - no worries! I'm not sure I speak it yet, neither! šŸ˜…

I ran the Truggy in my cul-de-sac, it was quiet, but I wondered if it was some kinda radio glitch, possibly too much WiFi interference....until I realised that Castle has a different beep for that problem....šŸ˜

1000019375.png

No, I'm sorting out gates and fences for my MIL - but when I'm done, I'm going back down the strip and giving it a blast down the 1/4 mile. I'm trying the Onyx, followed by the Gens. If it only glitches with the Gens, the pack must be past it's use-by for 0-60mph runs, which (/as it's turned out) has kinda turned into my primary mission of late. The need for ... quickness? šŸ¤”

That's why I'm wondering if it's more of an lvc thing, I *think* default it 3.4v/cell??, in the past I've had my lower output batteries (5000/50c supposedly) sag enough to trigger it but as soon as I lift and hit the throttle again it's golden, in my case it was because the car was already moving and took less amps to continue on, these are just guesses though based on things I've experienced, I've never used the mmx6s esc though or a sensored motor, I always buy the mmx8s ones and am solely a sensorless motor guy

When I finally get my Castle link, I'll let you know what it is. But I think you're right.

I likely smoked that battery on my freezing cold 0-60mph runs. They were far from subtle and apparently lipos are easily damaged below 5Ā°C.

It probably isn't the same C rating any more. šŸ«¤ My bad.

I need to buy more Graphene packs - but they're currently out of stock. Probably because they're the perfect size for FPV drones carrying RPG rounds....
