I can understand a bad batch got unkowingly sent out. I'm just weary of spending money on upgrades that shouldn't be needed and possibly not be any better..
Understandable. And agree. As I think about it... it now almost seems suspect they went with spring steel as a business decision. I don't know any other manufacturer that does that. I wonder why they did that? Was it legit and at face value in order to make it stronger or did they recognize a problem with their prior design and then spin this spring steel as an upgrade? I'm not sure, and not saying there was any ill intent. I haven't looked at my radix cups lately but I run it on 6s exclusively and have put quite a few packs through it. And it's got the 'regular ' steel cups. I'll have to check it out.... because if there's a problem I'm sure they'd be showing it now. I have had problems with my shocks on the radix.... I replaced with xtr shocks. They seem stronger/stiffer. We'll see

I know my arrma outdrive cups seem to have a non-cylindrical shape. They are more oval/rectangular shaped as opposed to circular I wonder if this different geometry adds strength.

I suspect it's a bit of both..for profit and necessity. I seem to recall TC offering the spring steel upgrades for the xtr before the sketer existed. Fair enough, but why didn't the xtr, which was marketed as the upgraded version of the kronos, have them already installed from the factory? This is a common practice in the industry and not exclusive to TC..I'm not hating on TC, but rather the practice that pretty much all the manufacturers embrace.

Mine is a 21 modle. Corally told me that the wear on the cups is normal wear and tear, but are sending me all new spring steel drive cups and all the parts to swap them out.. sooo we shall see.. they seem to be trying to fix the issues while saying their isnt an issue lol

Corallys warranty department has been great. In fact, Stefan the owner dealt with my cases personally and was very helpful.

I can honestly say theirs has been the best out of any other manufacturer I've dealt with. The rest have become too corporate and too dismissive.

Sweet! Free of charge? I did take them up on the free upgraded hubs last year..$25 postage tho..and that was 3 little plastic pieces in a bubble envelope (free candy made it worth it). Idk what their actual warranty is, but I can promise my truck hasn't had 20 runs total since I got it..cups are smoked as are the drive shafts and apparently the center diff.. not happy.
I hope they send em to you free, and the xtr gives you many great memories!!

Have you contacted them?

I have not, I suppose I've been putting it off with anticipation of getting the same shellac'd response that @Caleb90 got.. "sir, there's no problem that we're aware of.", at which time I would become exceedingly sarcastic to them and likely dismiss any chance of getting resolve.. an infantile outlook for sure..
I have to look on the bright side, right? Where I stand now is certainly not..

Thanks for the shove guys. After realizing how ridiculous my last post read, I initiated an inquiry with TC for it. See how it goes.

I thought that would solve the problem (and it might).. but after hearing of @Mr. Fring (and others)having issues with Sketer outdrives (spring steel) I'm not convinced.. mine is a '21 model so I don't have the spring/swiss cups. I'm a bit bummed to have to spend $100 on a "maybe" it'll solve my problems.. that's all. I could be wrong.
My kronos xtr 2022 shows no wear on the spring steel.drive cups. I've broken many control arms wing mounts steering links. But no wear on those drive cups. I think those are good to go. Perhaps a bad batch? Don't know but I've got about 20 packs on 6s . I send it 10 feet in the air off a ramp. Drive cups are not a problem... my heavy throttle finger is. Lol

Awesome! Very glad to hear. Again, I do apologize for whining about my diff cup experience..fingers crossed they'll replace them. Mine is the 21 xtr, so no spring steel cups.
Are you the one who put the kraton arms on the kronos?

They must know its an issue. Thus why the new ones come with the new drive cups
Did TC handle your warranty or were you directed to HRP? Just curious.

I see, I have had mine about 8 months. Pretty sure warranty is 2 years? Irrelevant IMO..anyone can easily surpass the number of packs my rig has had ran through it in a week or two. Having 8 rigs to choose from, none of them get run more than twice in a day. I typically only run rc's once a week, weather/life permitting. Then there's 4 months of winter where I only run a beater (kaiju or hoss) and much less frequently at that..

Corally directed me to an American supplier. They wanted proof of receipt and wanted me to send the old esc to them..but the esc started working. I have no faith in that esc now.. yes I put arrma kraton rear arms on the back. Now I have put rpm front arms upper and lower made for kraton on my kronos. Was easier to just order kraton cvd,s and put kronos drive cups on kraton drive axles. Kraton are longer. Made my kronos wider. Loving the new arms. Got blue

Put front upper and lower rom arms I meant to say. So all kraton arms except rear uppers. Which I could have changed. Just didn't need to

Sounds beefcake. The Arrma arms do have alot more material in them. I see that RPM just recently released front arms for the kraton/talion exb's. I haven't broken any TC arms but have broken one upper on the kexb. My fault, I assaulted a tree with it..
I just sent part numbers and pictures to HRP per their request. They sent me a link for the Kronos exploded view with part numbers.. a link for dropbox which didn't work..but what I found interesting and encouraging is that the link has C-00273 in the link, which is the '22 xtr.
So I looked up the part numbers for that and sent them..fingers crossed they'll hook me up with the swiss bits and not the standard '21 stuff.

I do have a cart loaded with the swiss parts over on RC Hobby Explosion's site just in case I gotta bite the bullet..yeah, it's only $100..but honestly it's more about principles to me. Plus I'm broke🤣🤣

Got word that TC is going to warranty my parts. Sweet! Same story here, pinion inputs are outta stock at HRP. So I ordered them from RC Hobby explosion. Excited to get the xtr going again! It runs but the diff cups are worn enough to make the drive bind when driving. So I shelved it a couple weeks ago.

I just got done going through all my diffs and putting the swiss drive cups on. Only waiting for the pinion cups as they are on back order
So, I take it you've gotten the pinion cups by now? I got mine earlier this week👍
I noticed after replacing the rearward output cup on my center diff that the play is gone.. I was relieved that the spur seems to be fine.
Now to replace the tie rod and camber links with something stronger.

I think this will be the route I'll be taking in the future, not really impressed with the TC arms TBH.

Yes i got every thing, have not run it much as i am packing for a move. And yes the tie rod ends break easy
