Asuga Tires for Asuga

Hi Mate, I run the 6S Mojave Fortress wheels on my Asuga and they are bloody AWESOME!! Bit of give with the sidewall which is excellent and incredible traction the buggy is fantastic to drive with them on. Only thing you need is plus 5mm extensions for the rear only , front is good , and they clear beautifully. I purchased the ADU Racing ones off Aliexpress and they are perfect .. Looking at the buggy you would never know I had extensions on the rear and no the front.. Cheers
Sweet! They are fantastic tires, tough as nails too!🍻

I had some +10 extended hexes in a box that fit, so I put those on the rear and ran katars, totally a wild animal compared to the stockers! I also have some j concepts landmines on the way, but I'm really wanting some mojave wheels. The stock ones didn't seem to get much traction (in light snow/grass), but they might work well on my maxx slash.

With +10 adapters you might be able to run Backflip LP’s or MX38’s? I don’t have an Asuga my brother does but he broke something in the front end after hitting a tree last summer. I haven’t seen it since. Shame, I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on it. I have an Arrma K6 w/Mojave arms, very similar to an Asuga dimensionally. I have been running a set of Redcat Avalanche MT tires/wheels on it for snow. They work really well since they have a good amount of negative offset. About 6.5” tall.

I would say anything made for Mojave/UDR should be the right size, although the UDR wheels may have an inner wheel diameter that's too small, requiring some offset to clear the Asuga hubs.
I just ordered a set for my Mojave off of AliEx, $40 for the set. They are unglued, but I'm okay with that. Gives me an opportunity to properly clean them before gluing.

According to a review here: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808301896763.html The ones on the left have a thicker sidewall and are a bit stiffer in corners than the other versions. Some storefronts are saying that these are meant for grass and dirt.

Also have anyone tried these cheap on-road tires?

I like to do stuff on asphalt that basically eats the tires like drifting corners so I ordered a set so see how they work out. I don't care how well they handle speed because that's not what I want them for I want a cheap throwaway on-road tire I can use up without worrying too much about cost.

I’ve saw some people say the ftx dr8 wheels work well in Asuga they look similar. The cheap on road tyre had a buddy on fb ran them says they worked well great bang for your buck. Corally also do a road tire but prob bit more pricey.

Hmm the ones I linked are 139mm diameter so slightly different. Otherwise they look the same.

EDIT: just noticed the picture says 140x70mm and PHALTLYNE on the "144mm" tire they either come from the same factory or are bootlegs. Both things could be true Chinese factories like to run a second shift and sell unauthorized product out the back door to make some extra cash.

Also, cheap wheel nuts + wrench:

Cheap fan that fits 40mm~42mm diameter motor:

Just the mount alone is a bargain, you can always upgrade to aluminum cased fans later.

I’ve broke some many those cheap fan mounts just by over tightening them, the pot metal just breaks at hinge. Adu mount better job & nicer. Just pick up a 40mm fan for it.

I just found this on AliExpress: £6.20 | ADU RACING 7075-T6 40mmx40mm Cooling Fan Ajustable Mount FOR 42MM MOTOR hobby wing rocket 4274 4268 4292

It's 6061 aluminum, if you chimp fist the clamp screw it it will break but don't do that and it's fine. Two finger tight only and use a "strong medium" threadlock like devcon orange. If the clamp still rotates on the motor use a bit of sleeve retainer compound on the inside of the clamp. If you loosen the clamp again the retaining compound will let go so it's not permanant. It's basically like threadlock for non threaded cylindrical fitments like a slip fit bearing in it's seat

The Aliexpress 140x70mm on road tires here: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832671138483.html

Either come from the same factory as HPI Phaltline tires or are clones of them. They have the "PHALTLINE" and "140x70mm" printing but not the "HPI racing" Actual diameter is 136mm~138mm

The come in a bag with a pegboard card with "K-Force Racing" branding, the website is horribly out of date and does not have these exact tires listed. They might be defuct and these could be new old stock that are being sold off at a low price to get rid of them.

The HPI version typically sells for $30 a pair for just the tires if the Aliexpress version becomes unavailable then recycling the wheels with the HPI tires could be a reasonably priced option.

EDIT: The set I ordered just came today I mounted them just to see what they look like (haven't glued them yet) and they make my Asuga look like something Bruce Wayne has down in the Batcave you'd just need to add a black body and a batwing to complete the look.

Awesome! Glad to hear some actual feedback. I just stumbled across the VP tires recently, but can't find any actual opinions on them. Even the vid I shared had zero comments and no running footage. Their "recreational" tires look great for my backyard track. I need a set of each! Buggy, truggy, MT! No road tires for me, I'm all dirt. LOL

I run on grass mainly & bit of gravel mainly they work for me, badlands give me too much grip on grass cause to much traction rolling & almost get 3 sets buggy tires for the price of a set of badlands. The pin style work better on grass but if I hit the car park I can kill a set in 1 battery pack, see middle set pictured 😝 so tend to use the block stlye(bulldogs) they give me just the right amount of grip but still allow it to slide/skid without traction rolling. I’ve saw a running vid with them I’ll try to find it think it was on nbrc channel
