Punisher/Kagama 4s - has Corally fixed the cvd pin issue on this rig yet or provided a fix? Still on the fence about purchasing one with this being a major issue. I think about every review I’ve seen has confirmed the issue. Please advise. Thanks!

Corally been pretty good at sending out replacements to anyone that’s had issues with them don’t know if they’ve fixed or changed the design yet though. But corally just today teased a new rc is about to drop, I also spotted they have released a Cvd maintenance kit & new body for KronosPunisher/Kagama 4s - has Corally fixed the cvd pin issue on this rig yet or provided a fix? So what’s different in this cvd kit? Can’t tell by the pic- are they spring retainers instead?
I bought the new Punisher and so far it has been nothing but a pain. I can say that Corally's support is "good", in the sense that they have at least only been somewhat begrudging about dealing with defects in their products. However, I can't really compare with the other brands of cars I own since I have never even had a reason to reach out to their support in the first place. I am now on my fourth support ticket and making my first ever post on a manufacturer forum. I have driven this bloody thing a total of around 1 and a half hours since I got it last month. How will we know when the fix has been made? I just got my Kagama 4s a few weeks ago and lost my left CVD drive shaft after a few runs. I calibrated the EPA as well. Hopefully TC will reach out to buyers that have these vehicles.
I know and can completely understand your frustration. My Kagama 4s lost its left front cvd shaft the 2nd time I drove it. I wasn’t doing anything crazy either just getting a feel for the steering and how it handled. I went over a small jump and when it landed the tires gripped so it tumbled 3 times and in slow motion I saw it pop out. I found the cvd port but the pin and inner piece were lost so I contacted the warranty company and they sent me one out. This was after reaching out to where I brought it and they said they didn’t even have the part in stock yet. I looked at the manual and the part number listed I ordered and apparently that is the wrong part. The shaft that goes to the wheel was shorter. Anyway the warranty company sent me the correct part and I installed it. When I did the EPA adjustments this time I made sure when the wheels were turned right and left only 1/4 of the ball pinky in the tire was showing which in theory will prevent that stupid pin from popping out. Drove it 2 times since on pavement and a little jumping but nothing crazy because just got it back working so wanted to be a little careful. So far so good but I would like the fix they referred too when it come out. That truck is a little over $400 so for that Kroger I wills think it would last way longer then that. It drives really nice and I love the power and even after shortening the EPA (turning radius) it still steers a lot better then the Arrma Kraton 4s I had. From what I heard from others TC does take care of the customers so hopefully you will get the proper attention in your concerns.
I mean yes that is literally exactly what I said, that the standards are different. However, does that really mean that we should not hold brands accountable? Again as I said, this is not some small business, this is a corporation who is making their decisions based on maximizing profit. They will always choose profit over consumers if given the chance.Think your being a little bit ott on saying they should stop production, I’ve seen arrma have issues with there rigs spitting out dog bones never addressed or resolved , issues with bulkheads, out drives plenty complaints about new 2in1 223s esc etc etc then traxxas and they’re sintered monkey metal diffs & spurs & then theres theyre Sh itty electronics Neither inform customers or stop producing there products. At least corally addressing the issues. Being a toy I’m guessing the industry standards & what you can get away with are different to a household item which could potentially burn your house down if faulty, you’re comparing apples & oranges imo. But maybe corally just isn’t the brand for you.
Yeah that's fair enough since you've already bought it. But I do think that anyone considering this purchase should have this information. I would not have made this purchase if I had known. I bought this thing because I saw a prominent YouTuber saying how durable it is. Serves me right for believing marketing like that. It certainly looks durable when you first get it, and the pin doesn't pop out immediately. But I'd say any product that becomes unusable after such a short period of mild use is anything but durableI just want to know when the updated parts are available and how I can get them under my warranty.![]()
sure it’s rebranded Hobbywing but with my rc there was an esc manual with pretty much all the info you would need in it. And hobbywing don’t usually give you a program card you purchase it separately. But you don’t even need a program card you can do it manually also I don’t see what your complaint is there. But I’m not going to argue about apples & oranges if you made your decision.I mean yes that is literally exactly what I said, that the standards are different. I have owned Traxxas and Arrma and I can agree that they leave plenty to be desired. However, I have not encountered something that just breaks before I even get to give it an actual bash from them. However, Corally presents themselves as being of a higher standard of quality and durability. What I am seeing here is the same stuff from China, but of a lower quality control standard because these items are being re-sold and re-branded instead of dispatched directly from the factory. For example, the motor and ESC in the Punisher are quite obviously just rebranded Hobbywing stuff, but if you buy these items directly from Hobbywing they will provide you with significantly more information and offer you a programming card etc.
I made it clear that I knew I was comparing apples and oranges in my post. I said what I said to highlight the clear disparity in standards. At the end of the day, these are still products and we are still paying for them. Saying that other brands also do bad things does not excuse this at all.
And yes, I have already concluded that Corally is not the brand for me. I posted this as an answer to OP's question about if and when the issue with the CVDs are being addressed. I have provided verbatim quotes from Corally support, and my opinions stated are my own.
yeah I did point out that white knights would show up and defend Corally in my original post, so I agree that there is no need to argue. Just to clarify, I did not say that Hobbywing would give you a programming card, I said they would offer you one. What I meant was that if you know that what you have is a Hobbywing product, you can buy a programming card for it etc. With this rebranded thing, an average consumer does not know what they are actually dealing with.sure it’s rebranded Hobbywing but with my rc there was an esc manual with pretty much all the info you would need in it. is that picture from the 90s lmaoCorally offered program card too

Maybe as not offered anymore as like I said a program box not needed. An average customer would just need to read the esc manual & not need to worry about if it a rebranded item which you clearly didn’t or wouldn’t be complaining about it.is that picture from the 90s lmao
