I run the DumboRC ddf-350
I owned a Rlaarlo CT8A and it worked for 75 days and now gives a constant phantom -1200 signal to channel 1
I also have owned the DumboRC X6, which I liked, but the single model memory bugged me.
I got the DDF-350 for maybe $70 on AliExpress with a 10 channel receiver.
I love the ddf-350 because you have 2 actual physical dials that you can program to be the gyro gain or steering trim.
If you get the DDF-350 I recommend powering it with a 2s battery with a jst plug.
I'm really happy with mine, but please note I have only ever run those 3 different transmitters, so I'm not the most knowledgeable at all.
Honestly your inline with the majority! That was my next question, batteries and what can be run! So it's a JST 2pin? Red usually right? I've been looking for a lipo for the CT2R with a JR

Ordering tonight! Most likely off aliexpress unless I find better price elsewhere... doubt it lol. I'm glad I got that issue resolved. Honestly I'm bumping the BEC to 7.4 in a few here. Then tomorrow running stock tires and see the difference, if any.
Check Amazon. Usually within $10 of AE and you get it faster.

I just found this on AliExpress:
$14.00 | DUMBORC X6FP RC Receiver Wireless Coach Module 6CH Lamp Control Voltage Return for 2.4GHZ Transmitter X5P/X6PM/X10P/X6P RC Car
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrmxGfD so correct me if I'm wrong but this would allow me to have separate control over my daughters car? Kinda like student driver where the teacher has gas brake steering too?

Does everyone here run pistol grip, steering wheel radios?

I personally run a Futaba 3VCS stick radio on FASST, which in it's day was so far advanced that it never really fell behind anything else.

In terms of latency, range etc - FASST is excellent. The only problem now is finding FASST receivers. Futaba ones are basically non-existent. FRSky make them, but the 4 channel ones are impossible to source lately. 🙄 The 8 channel ones don't seem to bind up to the 3VCS.

eBay has 3PV steering wheel radios for £50, using FASST. In terms of latency and range, I don't think there would be anything modern that would beat it. Certainly not at £50!

I saw a Futaba 10PX (which runs semi-skimmed FHSS 😝) - £570 🫣. Nice full colour Oled screen though.

The range of full fat FASST is desirable for people that fly or run cars at distance. Speed runners and bashers tend to run their cars well over 300, 400, 500 meters.

Its funny I wanted to ask this same question! Way back I had joystick remote and I feel as though it's something that's missing. I honestly thought (dumb dumb here) joystick were only for plane and boat.....I'm not a fan of pistol grip! Now I have to look up joystick transmitters... thanks Horatio!!

Hey H!

All of my car stuff is pistol however I still have a few of the “ole twigs and berries” for my drones. Some of my drone and plane friends are into the Futaba FASST system. I can ask them what they are using? Depending, you probably can get it there as well, the price or shipping might make it prohibitive but you never know.

I think that there is one in there! The rest are in storage at the moment.

Sorry for the mess. Yes, I was the idiot that thought it would be a great idea to start new wood flooring installation 3 weeks before Christmas. 🙄

I was literally just about to say that lol for that price it better drive and fix the trucks!🤣🤣
Wash & clean them too lol that is silly money for an rc controller for a car. I could maybe see a big fancy drone/helicopter/plane needing something so high end but rc cars no thanks. Some the tech coming into rc nice to see but not at that price. I tempted to get something 1/10 just so I can put 1 these fancy little esc’s into something 🤩.

Can you send me a link on that bad boy? I'm guessing it's a high bit processor right?

Does the receiver have a gyro option?
I don’t think so, Im not that clued up on Sanwa but not sure if they even do a receiver with gyro, you would need to check If not went with that transmitter you may need to install an external gyro
