Curious to hear how your S35 performs with the 1515. I'm currently using that in my Shogun and it's a perfect match. I tried putting a 4282 in my Python and I couldn't get any traction.

One day I'll own a S35. My dream rig.
The S35 T2E was a fab build, really enjoyed it and the quality speaks for itself. The pictures don't really do it justice. Bar a missing part and some manual issues, the kit is up there with the best.

Sadly, between family commitments and gigging, I've not been able to do anything RC related for over a week.

My hope was to fit the motor and electronics one evening this week, but it's looking very unlikely now. Busy busy!

When I get back from Cardiff next weekend, I'll be on it. Perhaps by then the weather will stop being a d1ck! 😅🤣

Preach on H, I've been living with -0 temps, snow and wind for a week now. Nothing worse than having some down time and uncooperative weather! 🌨️🌨️❄️❄️🥶🥶

I know the feeling. I have a Kronos that's been sitting for almost two months now, waiting for me to give her the works. Electronics, diff work, replacing the shocks and tuning. Life has just been a little hectic.

Maybe with the new batch of models coming out the prices on the S35 will drop to where mere mortals like me can afford one. :D

I don't think you'd like me much, CCB. Weather here has been highs 87-88, lows around 79-80. We've been having a bit of rain, but as I type this the sun is shining. ✌️😬

Or, just suck it up and bash anyways?😎🍻🤘
I will confess, my Tekno rigs don't see snow, too spensive.😉

Winter time fun! ❄️❄️🥶🥶☃️☃️

Pretty sure a few of ours will look the same way this weekend!

Bash on brother! 🚀🚀🚀🚀
Yeah, I get why folks don't bash in snow.. I just can't resist!! Winter lasts way too long in my region, plus snow bashing is so fun!! Worth the the penalties IMO.

@KnowAir - wow - snowballs on wheels! 🤣

I've enjoyed blasting some of my rigs around in the snow. I have happy memories of my Mugen MBX4 RR one winter being used on one of our local roads, as traffic was at a standstill. The snow stayed for about 2 weeks, which is fairly unusual in the UK.

I loved that car. Nitro in sub zero temperatures is not without it's challenges though, so I warmed the engine prior to starting with a hairdryer. I ran with RB plugs and 25% Elite Pink Power fuel during this cold ❄️ ❄️❄️ weather and it ran like a champ. Destroyed all my race tyres on the ice and had to buy new ones for the start of the next season. 😅

The OS engine I ran with originally was quite a beast!

I ran with the RB WS7 engine after a season with the O.S. but the carb from it is still used on my Savage STS .32 engine today! 😅

The WS7 was a full on competition engine, prepared by Stan Crompton - Dave Crompton's dad.

I have no digital photos of my ice bashing, unfortunately, though I'm pretty sure I have some hard copy A4 size prints of it somewhere.😊

That WS7 is freakin amazing,….🤩🤩🤩! They honestly don’t build stuff like that anymore, well, unless you really want to spend some 💰💰💰.

I only dabbled in nitro. I was always intrigued by it, however it seems like more of a time commitment and I’m already short enough on time as it is. But, wow, you can’t mistake those little motors when they sound off. The high pitched buzz always reminds me of an old Yamaha YZ 80 I had growing up, days upon days of fun crackin that throttle wide open!

No way! You had a YZ?!! 😁 I had a 1984 YZ 125. It was a missile! And girls used to like riding it with me. 😜

As a mid teen, not only was MX a great local sport, but the YZ was like the best 2 stroke powered marital aid, literally ever. 🤣

2 strokes definitely 'vibe' better than the 4 strokes. 😝

I never got too deep into the nitro stuff. Had, and still do, 2 Losi GTX 2wd stadium trucks. Went through several engines in them, Thunder Tiger, TRX, then finally ponied up for the OS .15 CV. Wow, talk about reliable! One has the OS .15 w/CVEC variable pipe, the other has a Dynamite .12 w/MIP 360 Stinger pipe. Both are undoubtedly locked up tight these days..haven't touched either in 10 years. Tmaxx buried round here somewhere too. Put a .21 slide carb motor in that, then gave up, too much TRX will make a fella not wanna rc anymore, LOL.

Yes, the modern 4 strokes may be faster, but will never be as cool or badazz as a two stroke. Sadly I never owned a two stroke mx bike, had 4 wheelers, but just not the same. My bro had a 1989 CR250 he bought new, I rode that quite a bit. A buddy had a 1986 YZ490 that he could never seem to start himself, too short. He'd ask me to start it, "only if I can ride it".. I rode that a decent amount as well but, honestly the CR250 was a far superior bike. Nearly as fast, much better handling and brakes..also had the p ln easure of riding a CR500. IMO the ultimate two stroke mx bike for a guy that's 6'2" 250lb (me).😁

Wow! The legendary CR500. 😎👌 Never rode one, but watched in awe as they effortlessly sailed over the triples at our local track. Yes, the CR500 was the daddy. It was also really, really dangerous. From an era when nobody knew what a risk assessment was. Or particularly cared - they just wanted to race MX.

Yes, 4 strokes are 'faster' provided they're allowed to race 2 strokes with a 2:1 cubic capacity advantage.

That being said, 2 strokes needed lots of maintenance. Piston, rings, power-valve every season.

Castrol R was the 2 stroke oil of choice. The sweet smell of 2 stroke and freshly churned up grass. That and the burger van, obviously. 🤩

all this talk of dirt bikes. 😬

When I first wanted a bike, I was thinking of getting one. Quickly decided that if I got a dirt bike, I would probably maim myself trying to send it over the first jump I see.

Instead I went street. Got a Vulcan 750. Then I went got myself a Hayabusa, which I nearly killed myself on. 🤦‍♂️ Fast forward almost a decade later, and I was the owner of a TW200. I absolutely loved that little bike, although it didn't love me at 340lbs. 😅

I grew up on 2 wheels. Started out on dirt and snow cross, then I was on the street as soon as I had a license. I’ve had them all over the years (American, Japanese, Euro) but I was always partial to Ducati and Triumph. I sold my last two street bikes when my oldest daughter was born, (Triumph Daytona 675R and Ducati 848). There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about them, but to be fair, I live in a dense suburb of a major city. Between the blue hairs headed to bingo and the teens that haven’t learned yet that cars are dangerous, I’m probably better off without them.

Yanno...I've been wanting to get my Busa back on the road. She's been sitting for about 7 or 8 years now.

Seeing how the drivers are nowadays, I'm wondering if that's such a great idea. You won't believe some of the absolute stupidity that's going on. Several weeks ago I had a dude cut me off from my passenger side only to go into the center lane and signal to turn left. There was no one behind me. He could have just waited the 5 seconds, but nope; he had to speed up on my right, cut me off and then go into the center lane.

People nowadays, I swear. 😕

You ain't wrong brother! These idiots driving while staring at their phones..high as a kite smoking weed at the same time.. I'm worried while in a 4 wheeled cage!! They just wander right into my lane while oncoming way too often! I had a couple road bikes, started out on a Suzuki Bandit 1200, racked up 25k miles in 2 years!! Then got a deal I couldn't pass up on a ZX14. Oh man, that thing was mental!! What a machine! Just sold it like 3 months ago. I haven't even reg'd it since 2020. Those days are over for me (sport bikes). Between uncomfortable and made for breaking any speed limit in first gear, nah. I always took the fastest routes out of town with the bikes, no need to tempt fate with the morons running around in the cities and burb's.. I'd rather roll the dice with farmers and animals while pacing a two lane at 150mph.

Ah, the phone users. Yeah they can be a threat to well-being also. The instances of near misses of just this past year is actually the same as my total for about the last 5 years! It's starting to get pretty stupid out there.

And I see you are a proud "Ironbutt" member! Lol...10K miles is about what we'd do out here in a year just general daily driving. My first Busa I did about 6K miles in that first year. My second one, eh...let's just say I got a little older. I wasn't as gung ho; I still enjoyed riding, but if there was a chance of rain, I preferred to stay dry. 😅 I also enjoyed the AC a little more too.

And yup...the speed on these things are unreal. My girl is a 2000, and she'll hit 85 in 1st gear; not very helpful when the speed limit here is 35. Lol. I'm gonna try and get her back up and running this year as a weekend cruiser, maybe. Just a little something for my mental health. :D

Although I'm not sure how much mental health replenishment I'll get with the state of the drivers nowadays.

Yep, as I got older, I lost interest in bikes, especially sport. I like my AC, heat..and coffee on my way in to work. Kawi claims 106mph in first gear. I never bothered trying to verify..😉🤷‍♂️

Having been the first on the scene of a number of motorcycle accidents, it re-enforced my own belief that motor bikes and cars cannot ever safely mix.

When I was 16, I promised not ride a motorcycle on the road.

First accident, patient received a neck injury, but went on to make a full recovery. Car turned right in front of him.

Second accident, motorcyclist collided with a coach with a pillion passenger, having crossed the line at excessive speed, hitting the side of the coach. Both were seriously injured, but unfortunately main rider lost his leg - only a thin strip of leather kept it with him, albeit his leg was up by his ear. 😬 Grim.

Third accident - 2 motorcyclists riding on separate bikes. The one following crossed the line and hit the car in front of me head on, impacting the screen and driver's side pillar (in the UK, we drive on the left and the driver's seat is on the right). Driver was in serious nervous shock and motorcyclist was on the edge of a sheer drop into woods.

I retrieved the female patient and began CPR at the roadside for 20 minutes, whilst first responders arrived. First cyclist arrived to call emergency services and it became apparent that the female I was working on was the fiancé of the first rider.

Sadly, it was quite obvious that the patient had multiple bone fractures in all limbs, pelvis, skull and ribs making CPR extremely difficult/upsetting.

Once paramedics arrived with the defibrillator, they tried for 5 minutes and pronounced her dead at the scene. Her fiancé was inconsolable.

The driver of the car she hit was unscathed physically, but could not see through his glasses for her blood. Clearly in a traumatized state, the police gave him a really hard time for being like zombie, which I found extremely unreasonable. I cleaned his specs for him and asked the paramedics for guidance, as he clearly was in no state to do anything - let alone drive home.

I later learnt that the deceased had severed her brain stem, thus no success with the CPR.

I'll never forget it.

I love bikes, but I'd only ride them now on a circuit.

Wow. Thanks for being such a considerate and compassionate person. That could have been me scattered on the roadway or hanging in the trees more times than I care to mention.
I don't know how first responders do it to be honest. Takes a special person indeed. This accident happened in my region a few years back, one of the most horrific accidents I've ever heard of.. they built a memorial for the victim's, which is touching for sure but I really feel for the first responders who were on scene. Must have been an unforgettable site..

Thank you. Apparently my brain switches off, I don't think, I just do. The thinking happens later.

That's horrible. 😱 20 people!!! Good f*#&ing grief. 1 'car'.

I'm not sure how people do the whole paramedic thing, it's tough shift work combined with repeated traumatic stuff, week in, week out.

Through my 20's, I became much more desensitised to certain things, due to exposure to bad stuff.

I was once unable to get someone out of a burning car - on the same stretch of road where the motorcyclist died. The doors were too hot and deformed from the crash and I received burns just from attempting it. And the smell stays with you.

The year after that, a head barman from a well known pub I used to frequent died when a tractor and trailer turned right in front of him - again - on the same stretch of road. He dropped the bike - as per the text book - slid under the trailer but was decapitated by it, killed instantly. It's awful, but there was nothing anybody could do. The tractor driver could perhaps have performed a shoulder check? 🤔 Hindsight.

There was other stuff too, equally horrid but I got past it. Focused on work, rode my MTB hiked and played squash. Obviously RC is great therapy too when I have time! 🤩
