Esc arrived god dam it’s bigmaybe a little overkill. Few other bits for my next build also just need buy something to put it all in now
.
Still in the box that’ll be my winter project. I’ve looked on YouTube not much if any content of it running yet but beyond rc just picked up one so maybe keep an eye on his channel he’ll probably put it to use before I doHow about the running of xc-esc E5 pro?
Yeah he has a bit of a victor meldrew personalityWatched this yesterday, as much as I mostly deplore this channel he actually didn't a good job of making a very useable improved RC
Yes, XC is quickly taking market share from HW and Castle.Yeah he has a bit of a victor meldrew personality. The xc esc definitely becoming more popular seeing a lot more people running them now & not heard any complaints yet. I finally got the Asuga out for a run so now I’ve done that I can start to pull it apart & start modifying it had to send it & break something before pulling it apart lol. But I’ll soon tear it apart & drop the xc e5 pro into it see what it can do myself. Few pics Asuga 1st sends ( I never get any good pics I’m the worst camera man ever
)

XC has basically tossed a hand grenade into the market, they're disrupting everything with cheap ESCs that are actually good. Hopefully they don't get greedy and start cutting corners once they've gained a good reputation as so often happens.Yes, XC is quickly taking market share from HW and Castle.
This morning I’ve received my first XC esc; the C8 (160A), everything else I run is HW.
With current Black Friday deals lately on Aliexpress the XC esc’s are a real good deal.
Because, at least in the Netherlands, Aliexpress is a lot cheaper. They all come from the same factory anyway, so when Ali is 25% cheaper than Amazon (Jeff Bezos wants to eat tooWhy are people still buying from Aliexpress when XC has an Amazon store with free prime shipping now?
Could have gotten the slightly longer 56118 in a lower kv option. Nothing wrong with shopping on AliExpress , shipping free & with constant sales & discounts vouchers I got my e5 pro for about £130. Spend your dime wherever you want whatever works best for you.Why are people still buying from Aliexpress when XC has an Amazon store with free prime shipping now?
Got an E5 Pro for 20% off for my 12S Baja 5B project:

Also the 200A E5 standard is now $159 on sale:

I wish they had a proper 1/5 scale C series ESC what with 1/5 scale sensored motors being so rare you're paying for a feature you likely won't use. They do have an 8S "200A" C6 but it states it's for 1/7 and the size of the heatsink reflects that it's basically the same size as the E6 160A.
I would have got the XC 5690 sensored motor but 1250kv is beyond the capacity of a 5B to gear down to somthing reasonable on 12S.
Rovan has an electric roller version of the LT for $797usd minus whatever sales Aliexpress has going at the time.I'm loving the 30DN - essentially to Losi T what Rovan is to Baja 5B. I would love to do a similar conversion, but again - no need for such wonky centre drive angles on the e version. That in my opinion needs work, especially for 12s. However - the 8s roller electric version already seems to have addressed this - driveline is straight.
As for these XC esc's - they look awesome! I love the Bluetooth connectivity built in - I have to use an OSB thing with my HW for racing. Nice to have the functionality included with the ESC out of the box. Nice!!
Yep - if Aliexpress are able to deliver to Blighty, I'm all in for making the roller 12s. with the XC5 proShame the roller body is a bit....monochrome. Either paint it nice, or supply it clear.
The temp sensor in Hobbywing sensored motors is non standard and only works with Hobbywing ESCs and that's the main reason I'd want a sensored motor in something like a Baja 5B, temperature logging and thermal cutoff. The very low RPM performance is only useful in something like a crawler. The other alternative is a low KV Castle 2020 but that's stupid expensive.Could have gotten the slightly longer 56118 in a lower kv option. Nothing wrong with shopping on AliExpress , shipping free & with constant sales & discounts vouchers I got my e5 pro for about £130. Spend your dime wherever you want whatever works best for you.
Stephanie Z is the master of aerobatic cars, period. He's a member here I think? You could always buy the driveline & parts required & make your own rig. I love this guys channel makes all his own rigs & goes hard in his back yard. Chassis, motor mounts, spur gears, arms doesn't seem like there’s anything he won’t try making himself , nothing flash or fancy all just built for purpose.
