So I've been having high temp problems with the Hobbywing Max 8 ESC in my Asuga, found this and decided to give it a try.

https://www.xc-esc.com/product/e6-brushless-motor-smart-esc/

These ESCs have had some good reviews on Youtube. At first glance it looks like a Hobbywing Max 6 clone but that turns out to not be the case, there are some differences in the setup parameters and it has X-bus support

Must be a few using the mad max name I watch kilowatt rc YouTube channel he runs the Mad components Mad max esc’s they do up 16s I think. Another option to castle & Hobbywing if looking something different.

Mad Components ESCs are the same as the XC-ESC ones. XC-ESC is the actual manufacturer as far as I can tell. The ESCs are identical except for the branding. I believe this because XC-ESC is a manufactuerer of hobby, e-vehicle, industrial and medical ESCs. They also have a engineering/product development contact page so clearly they are a manufacterer and not a reseller: https://www.xc-esc.com/rd-engineering/

EDIT: This is the Mad Components version of the XC-ESC E6: https://mad-motor.com/products/max7-hv-6-12s-esc-for-1-7-rc-model-car

Exact same ESC but with different branding (note that's a "+" symbol painted on the heatsink near the battery lead not a phillips screw)

I know HobbyWing makes a lot of companies ESC’s that are rebranded. We see this on the RC airside all the time also with the exception of Spektrum and what FMS uses I believe. Like on my jets I run a 120amp ESC that’s 6-8s rated

I ave also ordered this from Perfect Pass RC: https://www.perfectpassrc.com/products/castle-creations-1717-1650kv. The connectors are a $35 value and I needed more anyway so I'm basically paying $175 for the motor. I figure a larger motor might have lower temps too. The 1717 is 47x85mm and should fit without cutting the side guard with a 46T spur gear. I'm going to take the Max8 and 4285 and use them in an on-road vehicle possibly a Habao Hyper GTB

I think that’s going to be a great combo myself

How is that esc doing?
Have you tried it yet?
I used for a while then switched to a Castle Mamba Monster X 8S because I wanted an all Castle power system. It was a fine ESC though and I will use it in something else eventually. It ran way cooler than the Hobbywing Max 8 it replaced.

XC-ESC also now have a line of less expensive sensorless ESCs which are very reasonably priced.

I’ve just ordered the e5 pro for a project so 🤞 it don’t go up in smoke. £137 on AliExpress with sale on atm + vouchers.

Maybe this seller puts false business on AliExpress. Last week, my friend ordered one and finally order was cancelled by seller:D.

I just ordered an XC C8 esc.
Basically Max6 G1 specs for just under 70€ on Ali Express right now.
I am going to give it a try.
Got a Rocket 4292 in 1780kv to pair it with as well.
I am planning another little build to put this all in.
Sweet I ordered a servo & couple other bits so was able use £30 off voucher too so mine probably came in less than £137. Got notified 1hr later it’s already been shipped.

I'm will be rehoming the XC-ESC E6 in the Shiroi roller I just ordered with a Hobbystar 4274 2000kv sensored motor.

Servo will be a GX3255BLS which has proven itself to be a reliable servo in my Asuga after taking some nasty hits including one that twisted an aluminum servo arm (not the stock arm) and bent the screw holding the ball to the arm. As well as a couple hits that broke a ball off the control arms on the steering knuckles (note that I had replaced the steering balls with Hobao uniballs for easier maintenance of the steering system so it's not like it broke a 12-9 grade screw)

Esc arrived god dam it’s big 😅 maybe a little overkill. Few other bits for my next build also just need buy something to put it all in now 😂.
