Cant do 8s. Mistake in the manual. Think 4 and 6s only. But i think it can do 3s also. Not sure. Have not tried itQuestion members
Why does the instructions manual for the Torox ESC 185A
Say it can use 3s,4s,6s,8s.
I asked corally directly and they said not to use 3s???
Thank you
I use 4s it's a little more tame, and 6s when I'm feeling brave!!! HahahaCant do 8s. Mistake in the manual. Think 4 and 6s only. But i think it can do 3s also. Not sure. Have not tried it
Never tried 3s 2 be honest. So cant help you there, sorryI use 4s it's a little more tame, and 6s when I'm feeling brave!!! Hahaha
But I wanted to use 3s for my kids?
I was the same mate, waiting overnight for 1 battery to charge, then got 15mins of playtime...Hahaha8S will see the magic smoke pour from the Torox 185, but I believe 3S should be OK. Like others here, whilst I haven't run 3S on my Torox, I see no reason why it couldn't work.
This is from Corally themselves:

Let us know how your kids get on with 3S. When I was starting my RC journey, 6v nicad batteries were the norm, with 380 size motors on things like the grasshopper or holiday buggy.
My 7.2v hump back batteries were considered quite spicy when used with 540S style motors.
Later, my 8.4v nicads that I used in my Kyosho Rocky with a LeMan 240ST were considered insanely fast.
It's crazy to think that a 11.1v battery on a brushless rig is now the sort of thing newcomers train with!![]()
I think I'm gonna have to just try it...I remember the stock ESC of my MT4-G3 ran for a few meters and then stopped, with 3s.
Also i connected (accidentally) 7s batteries in two of my rigs and nothing bad happened.
Τhe cars were not moving, only the steering was working!
Then the old wind up 'fast chargers'. I have 3 grown up lads and a step son. All enjoyed when they were younger. They're far too busy doing other stuff now though, being all grown-up. I think I missed that memo!I was the same mate, waiting overnight for 1 battery to charge, then got 15mins of playtime...Hahaha
I'm nearly 50 years old and have a healthy appreciation of batteries, motors, and tech...
My children/young adults of which I have 8 however do not!!! As a electrician and electrical engineer stuff just fascinates me, it always has.
I remember using a bic pen to rewind my tape for my Walkman so as not to use the batteries up...Hahaha
Oh how things have changed.
I think I'm gonna have to just try it...![]()
