Hello, I have just ordered a Synchro 4. I’ve heard good things about it. I come from 1/8 nitro cars and one thing leaves me a bit puzzled: the composite shock towers. Is there any possibility to install aluminum shock towers? I don’t think this option is available among the official upgrades, but maybe some company has produced aluminum alloy parts. I look forward to your replies and opinions about the original towers.

I’ve saw it done using spark towers but the original composite towers form part of the top deck also but the 1 I saw he just put a piece of carbon to cover it up. I’ll try find the post tomorrow was on Facebook corally bashers group. Might have been this Syncro but didn’t save pic of under the hood

Ok, for the front i think I have to replace this part

with this part from the spark.

Yes you’ll also need standoffs for shocks you’ll loose body mount but could just Velcro body to sideguards

I think the plastic shock towers are actually a good idea, they are strong and have some flex to them which absorbs impacts better than aluminium and has less chance of breaking the bulkheads in a crash.

I have not had any issues with the shock towers on my Syncro, the only frequent issue I am having is the upper suspension hinge pins loosening themselves.
