Does anyone know if the Arrma AR330197 pivot balls for the front suspension will work in place of the corally C-00180-123? The diameter of the ball is the same at 14mm, but I can not find the distance from the ball to the shoulder of the threaded portion which would be needed to fit properly.

Some Arrma balls will work but you must take care that the thread matches. Some Arrma balls use a fine thread and some use a coarse thread, sometimes two different versions of the same part for the same vehicle.

For example these will work: https://www.amainhobbies.com/arrma-6x14x35mm-pivot-ball-2-ara330197/p409469

These will not unless you start with a brand new virgin arm: https://www.amainhobbies.com/arrma-6x14x37mm-pivot-ball-2-ara330657/p1237193

I've been using these are replacements on my Asuga, they ahve the correct coarse thread. These are meant for the Kraton 6s see the reviews for information on dimensions. The dimensons are slightly different but not enough to matter. The fractionally larger ball will fit the Corally ball cup with slightly less slop

Because of how many times I bent the balls it was a cheaper solution to just pick up 10 packs of those.

Also I highly recommend these:

Unlike the stock Corally part that uses an oversized interference thread these use a rubber O-ring to retain the nut and are MUCH easier to get into the seat straight without cross threading it. The o-ring is 12x1mm IIRC and are cheap to replace. (or maybe it was 12x2 I forget either way they are cheap)

When TC released their first line of bashers many replaced the pivot balls with the Arrma pivot balls. A LHS even had the Arrma pivot balls hanging in the TC wall rack with TC parts.😄
After TC made updates on the hubs the TC don’t seem the pop out anymore.

The balls were never the problem it was the hubs themselves. I do prefer stainless steel balls though because they won't rust.

What I would really like to see is a hub that uses m6 stainless steel ball joints like these:

Same diameter ball (14mm) in a brass and steel housing that has zero slop. They could be screwed onto the end on the arm and connected to the steering knuckle by kingpin screws above and below like on the Baja 5B steering knuckle.

Thanks for the link, that eliminates my analysis paralysis. I ordered 5 pairs to try out.

I actually got one to break at the weekend! First one ever, it was some very silly behaviour that made this happen.
