New here but use the sister sites, recently got back into rc's and been wanting a 6s unit. Been looking heavy at the arrma kraton. Then today i found a brand new 2021 kronos xtr with upgrades for a decent price. As the day went on i kept thinking about it, and ended up buying it. Now i need motor esc servo and reciever and transmitter. Lmk how i did

You did fine. What you use for electronics might be dependent on your budget. You can save quite a bit if you buy electronics from Jenny’s RC, which is what is known as a “breaker”. They take brand new RC vehicles, break them down into parts, and then sell the parts. You should be able to find ESCs and motors there that meet your needs.

I'd say you did well. I have heard they can be had for around $350 new nowadays..but yours looks close enough to not care IMO. Plus some extras..nice score👍 I have both the '21 xtr and a kexb. Like them both but the xtr handles way better for my use.
And welcome to the club too by the way🍻

As for the electronics, depends on how you plan to use it. High speed open areas, track(me) or what.. I bought the Team Corally electronics from Jenny's.
The motor and esc are awesome, servo, well it's rtr soo..I wasted 2 of them, then switched out for a DS3225 from Amagoon for $18 and haven't had an issue with it since. In hindsight, I should have chosen the DS3235($30). I use a Flysky 3 channel(GTB3b) which is 10 years old(still awesome). Extra receivers are $7 a piece from Hobbyking. I don't worry or care about the telemetry or stability nonsense myself though.

So i found a corally pull off motor and esc on ebay for 190. Or a corally motor and hpi 150 amp esc for 170 shipped off jennys

If you can swing it, I'd strongly suggest the TC Torox esc over any other rtr esc..seems the Torox esc is where the magic happens.
Otherwise, the HPI esc is definitely capable, it is a Hobbywing as are most all the rtr esc's save maybe TRX? Which I would avoid myself, not terrible, but not good either..
I have a Hobao rtr esc(Jenny's)in a mojave exb and it performs well enough.

I think the TC system is well worth the extra $20.

I do have my doubts as to whether the claimed specs by TC are accurate too..but the factory programming in the Torox puts my doubts to rest after seeing how well the Torox actually performs. The punch of this system is truly remarkable IMO.

Soo.. I'm guessing you pulled the trigger on the HPI esc @Caleb90 ? I see it's sold out now over at JRC.
Congrats if you did.;)

Oh, nevermind. Wasn't you then..

I will get the corally system. Do any of you know if the battery tray will fit double batteries?
I run 2x2s 5200MAH in mine with no issues. Hard case ones at that.

If you run 6s, I'd recommend a 6s brick because 2x3s means you'll have to stack them on top of each other and the tray is not really tall enough to hold them securely IMO..

Not trying to be a pusher by any means, but those Team Corally esc's are like gold..better not sit on it cuz it'll be gone if it isn't already..I don't share listings like that online unless I'm NOT interested in buying it. No offense to anyone here, but they'll snatch it right out from under you!!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

This is the only esc that I own where the punch isn't set at max..!! I had to turn it down in my Radix on 6s because it pulled my tyres off the rims (proline MX's) and I couldn't keep the front wheels on the ground...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Sooo got an email at 2:49 that the corally esc was in stock at jennys. Went on their web site at 3:40 and they were gone. Wtf

Good taste!
If you want to do 6s in arrma I highly recommend the outcast EXB...I've tried to break my wifes and just cant, the thing is a beast.

I suggest you sign up for text notification from Jenny's. That way you'll know as soon as it hits stock. I hear ya man..been there with Jenny's. They're top notch in my experience though.
