As all of the Kagama 6S people know, the Kagama is very unreliable on 6S full throttle.

This morning I decided to exchange the Asuga stock tires with the Kagama stock tires.

So I decided to do a speedrun. I got 94 km/h out of it. Guess what, no pizzacutters.

It was awesome and scary.
To be honest, it doesn't look half bad.

Oh and after this I did a speedrun with the Asuga on his own tires
93 km/h. Nice.

Have a good day.

The whole point of it is trying keep the front end down, no fun if it aint trying wheelie every time I try exit a corner :ROFLMAO: , your right its a nightmare keep the front end down while giving it the beans. I was trying 4s for a while but how bonkers it is on 6s is just 👌. Backflips 4s might be worth a go or something similar?

I have heard about the Backflips before. They are just so bloody expensive.

I can't say much about speedrunning in this specific case, other than big tires will pizza cut early and need to be belted once you go beyond 100km/h.

Yet, there is something special about the asuga tires. On my track every large RC come to life with Asuga tires. Certainly the shogun/muraco/kagama, but even my arrma (buggy-fied) fireteam.

Last week i even put them on my shiroi:

I do want to push to 100 km/h.
I also need to do it safely, so I also need to find a BIG open spot.
Smaller tires? The backflip 4S are the same size just a bit wider than the Asugas. Will that help in a speedrun?
A bonus is I can still use them as bashers in the sand etc.

I have sets of (AliExpress) 4S backflips and the TC XP4S (Sketer) which are simular in size. They are certainly no good for high speed. I am pretty sure the asuga wheels balloon less. But you can (offroad) speedrun with ballooning tires if you lock the centerdiff.

With my arrma fireteam i did 118km/h with belted proline trenchers. Other (expensive) options at proline are badlands, menance and mirage.

Yes, smaller tires are more stable and less prone to ballooning, but will also require bigger pinions and ruin the shock-setup / rideheight.

I had really good speed runs with these Jetko Supersonic tyres, but they're very heavy.

Slightly more driveable and lighter - better for 0-60mph, are these Louise MT Rocket tyres:

By running smaller diameter tyres, you are essentially lowering your gearing, which will result in lower top speed, but faster acceleration.

Tyres that balloon are hard to control on hard surfaces at speed - especially when the tyres are all different sizes! 🤣

I could be the only one here, but I dislike the stock Kagama tires.
They are big and clunky.
So, IF I was going for new tires.
Should I go for 4S tires (1/10) or remain remain at 6S tires (1/7-8)?
I guess it should be offroad basher style and IF I can drive fast on them it is a good plus.
And yes belted.

Don't focus too much on scale, there is no true standard.

The kagama chassis does deserve a wheel diameter of 120+mm (larger than1/8 buggy wheels)
I'd say asuga tires are the minimum. Larger wheels will give a slight better bashing look and land smoother when jumping, but will give less control/cornering grip) Same with width, going beyond 60mm will look cool, give you straightline grip / and more prone to do wheely, yet reduce cornering grip and topend speed.
3rd is offset, with the kagama already being freakishly wide, i'd stick to 0mm offset.

Good morning all. After much much thinking I bought some new tires/wheels for the Kagama. I bought some Louise RC's.
MT uphill MFT's. They are belted and they have a smaller diameter.
I also used the hub extenders and it is like the wide Maxx. 🤣🤣

Haven't driven it yet.

Have a good Sunday.

Good luck! Let us know how the significantly lower rollout (essentially - lower gearing) works out for you. 👍

Will do, will be going for a morning bash. Dump my kid at school and away we go. 🤣🤣

All 6s bashers, can't go to far wrong with a set of backflip 4s
All my 1/8 bashers....kraton 4s, Kronos, kagama, Mt8, sketer, hobao sste truggy, all have backflips everyone of them
