Anyone else want a proper stunt truck based on the Kagama 6S platform? I think TC really needs to do a follow on to the Dementor built from current Kagama 6S parts. Pretty much just take the Spark XB-6 chassis add whatever new holes are required use the Kagama suspension with 170mm bigfoot tires and a pickup truck body on it and job done. EDIT or maybe just use the Shiroi platform with the Kagama suspension and 170mm tires, not sure what the Shiroi wheelbase is compared to the Kagama though.

The shiroi is based on the kagama chassis, main differences being shorter arms & driveshafts, different shock towers, bumpers, side guards, bodyshell wheels & rear plastic chassis braces removed everything else within the chassis is same as kagama. To make a stunt truck just get a spark stick kagama shock towers & arms on it if that’s what you want.

You're right, I swear someone said it uses the Asuga but I didn't check until now.

I think that was me. But i measured it and the Asuga chassis is ±15mm shorter than the Kagama's and Shogun/Muraco/Kronos's.
Almost none of the earlier aluminium upgrades that'd fit the Shogun/Muraco/Kronos's chassis, will fit the Kagama's. And probably the Shiroi's neither.

No none of the chassis braces will fit but the rest of the 7075 parts corally do should fit. If you want to see what parts are compatible if you look at the technical specs of parts on corally site they will tell you what models they will fit but sometimes takes corally a while to update for new models. If want to see dimensions of models if you go into the corally world portal on their website you will get all that info.

Seems like you would want that short 1/8 buggy wheelbase to make it a proper stunt truck. I have no idea what the Spark comes with for bracing or what you might be able to come up with in regards.
I have to believe TC has something in the works for a 6s stunt truck, it’s a very popular segment in the hobby. Also about the last segment they haven’t released anything for in quite some time. Overdue.

Before shiroi was released I spotted these shock towers on corally site I thought they were going to be for a sct but now it released & they not for it no idea what these are for or what sc could mean, stunt car , street car, idk 🤷 Bracing for the spark adu racing has that covered

You need a robust chassis brace like on the Kagama for a stunt truck, here's why:

I don't think the Spark's brace would cut it the chassis would end up bending like a pretzel. The whole point of a stunt truck is to drive it like you stole it.

Was thinking you could use 210mm monster truck tires on the Kagama chassis/suspension with 24mm wheel hub adapters to get an effectively shorter wheelbase but I'm not sure how well the drivetrain would handle that.

That would put a lot of stress on the whole drivetrain with massive wheels & would gear it up quite a bit. Would need to gear down but there’s a reason you don’t see mods like that done to trucks. Doing it on a swb chassis way to go if want to make one. Adu chassis brace on spark you ain’t bending that too easily.

I totally follow the train of thought by OP. It boggles me how we still have a Dementor to this day. My ideal SWB truck is the Kagama parts with a short wheelbase and optionally smaller than 170mm tyres (closer to the Arrma Backflip LP, 158mm), which I use on my own Arrma Notorious 6s V5. It is a monster of a truck when it comes to flipping and it is my favourite by far. However there are weak points - Drive cups not S2 / Spring steel, generally the drive cup section and the CVD cross pins are prone to popping out. Also, the Pillow balls would come out of the knuckles, and maybe the rear wing mount is too prone to breaking, tearing off the wheelie bar attachment. All bearable issues, as such I love it to bits and would love to have a Corally equivalent whereby I can go longer in between diff rebuilds. I am convinced my bulkhead screw holes can only sustain 1 more rebuild before it strips.

One that is probably slightly narrower as the full sized Notorious is too darn wide for my trolley:

Nowadays to prolong the inevitable diff rebuild I am even running the Noto with 5S, to similar effect. I don't need to jump roofs.

I'm currently waiting for the holiday season to buy and build a Kagama 4s with above mentioned specs but it would be better if the spring steel drive cups are included in a short wheel base 6s version that I can down spec instead of up spec. Saves a lot of wastage as I won't have parts that I don't want / need.

Get this stuff, apply it to the screws the way you would threadlock i.e just a bit to the end don't go crazy with it. It will greatly extend the lifespan threaded holes in plastic by lowering the amount of torque required before the screw completely stops turning so you don't over strain the plastic. They also have "plastic thread lock" but it is literally just thick cyano glue with blue dye added to it and a big price markup.

Also, this specific bottle won't dry up like most bottles will, the last bottle I had of this stuff lasted for 5 years and ran out. I think it's the additives for temperature and shock resistance because it also sets slower than typical super glue. You can squeeze out a drop on a scrap of paper and do multiple screws with it and it will last quite a while.

That should help quite a bit. SWB vehicles don’t suffer the chassis damage as easily as LWB like the Kagama. Would be awesome for someone like CRCU or M2C to release an upgraded chassis for TC SWB rigs.

I was being blind, just use the Kagama 4S chassis with the 4S parts like the shock towers replaced by the 6S parts and the longer Kagama arms and 170mm wheels, add in the center brace tubes. The Kagama 4S has a wheelbase of 327mm about 5cm shorter than the Kagama 6S. Design a new pickup truck style body adjust the suspension and job done. And it would use nearly 100% parts from existing vehicles.

I was thinking about the Kagama / Punisher 4, for real. But there are just too many things to change and do to build it up to 6s. Not least you would even have to chuck away the ESC AND Motor. Plastic shocks, plain(er) steel cups, etc etc, the list seems quite long.

Considering the amount of work and inevitable cost, you might as well get an Arrma Notorious.

I tend to agree. While I would prefer a TC and not be part of the “herd”, the Noto 6s is a stout truck. IMO.

Then I can't use parts from my other Corally vehicles. However I have no intention of DIYing my own I was just saying that it would be easy for TC to put out such a truck without needing to design much else than a new body. They have all the the parts it's just a matter of putting them together. About all they need is a new body and shorter brace tubes everything else they'd need for a stunt truck already exists on the Kagama 6S and 4S. They just need to open the puzzle box and RECONFIGURE the two trucks into one. Wait that's a good name, call it the Hellraiser

Oh, for sure, Corally could do that. In fact if I was in their R&D this version you imagined would've easily been just one of the many prototypes they have. Its likely a question of cost (new tools investment) vs overall potential sales and setting up the SKU that they are working on or decided not to go ahead.
