I run with a few friends that have Monster Trucks in fairly long lawn. Has anyone transformed a python/Radix into a truggy? I've noticed a lot of parts between the shogun, dementor, Kronos, and Radix are shared. Has anyone done a conversion? I'm assuming at minimum you'd need to buy: a arms, drive shafts, possibly turn buckles, and wheels to do a conversion. Just looking for a bit more clearance and beefier wheels.

Plenty of the parts are interchangeable, all really depends what you want to build 😉👍🏼

You could do a Radix with wide hub carriers, stub axles, dogbones and slightly bigger wheels as an example
Hey Brian, i was thinking about specifically ordering from Jenny's RC to determine my parts list. I think this would be the most economical way modify and switch back to buggy depending upon what I wanted to do.

Just don't want to order parts I wouldn't need or possible wouldnt work. I just don't have a means to look hold parts up side by side to determine what's needed.

Assuming: driveshafts, hubs, and arms to make a unique basher from the above URL.

Or buy a Sketer 😇
I'd love to do that but my wife might not appreciate me spending that much money 😉

don't tell her 😉 Or, what worked for me is keep saying that you want another car. At one point she will be done with you wanting one. And what also helps, use your own money 🤣

I would advise getting the revised HD front hub carriers..

I believe these are the parts you would need to do a wide Radix, anyone can correct me or add to this please.👍🏼

Thanks for taking the time to put together a parts list Brian. Much appreciated

I'm a huge fan of monster truck conversions!

A few points of caution on going long arm...

Double check parts compatibility before committing to buying the arms since you'll need to sort out shock and shock towers that match up well.

A couple of us recently went long arm on the Sketer and found out that Kronos rear tower will provide more downward travel than the Dementor rear tower. Just an example that doing your homework pays off.

It looks like the Radix uses the same rear shocks as the Kronos and Sketer but I didn't look at the fronts.

So, if the Radix uses the same differential housing/rear bulkhead as the Sketer and Kronos then you know all you need is a Kronos rear tower for maximum suspension travel/ground clearance in the rear.

Look into parts compatibility up front to see what works there too and build out a full shopping list. You'll know the full price tag of going long arm before ordering anything.

I think a long arm Radix would be awesome but I'm not paying for the parts here. So, you know...

If you start with the wide hubs first but decide to go long arm later on you will be using all the parts you already bought. It won't cost you anything extra to just dip your toes in the pool before diving into a long arm set up later.

Feel free to ask us about different combinations since some of us own multiple vehicles and may try out a combination to see how well it works before you commit to buying anything.

It's going to be cool either way you decide to go!

Those are a zero offset wheel so it'll counteract the width gains of the wide hubs. Savage owners say they balloon like crazy, have a lot of sidewall flex and are terrible on hard pack dirt/pavement.

They should fit though.

Thanks, that sounds like a hard-pass on those wheels. 👍 Just trying to find some decent value out there, but those sound like they won't cut it.

It seems you are interested in a set of mildly monster truckish tires?

Yeah, something a bit bigger than stadium truck tires. 😉
If you shop on Amazon look at tires from RC Station.
They are a budget tire set, expect to reglue them and learn to balance tires but that goes for all cheap RC tire sets.

Hmm. I tried that now she’s left me and gone on holiday to Italy with her sister!!

Ad when she comes back, she is all relaxed and says it is all right to buy another car........from your own money 😉
