The 70/30 option is the better of the two.
The throttle trim may have gotten moved when the transmitter got knocked. If that happens, the car can take off without you pulling the throttle trigger. Make sure the throttle trim is set to zero - the middle of the dial.

I'll bet that got the heart pumping.
I once knocked over my son when I was fiddling with the setting since I didn't really know what it did. Turned it from the default of 50/50 to 70/30 since the manual recommends this is the best option in all cases without realising that you have to reset all the endpoints on the ESC 
My eldest son was also fiddling with it one time and didn't tell me. Turned on the rig and off it shot backwards towards a car. Did manage to turn off the transmitter again just in time before the collision. This is a dangerous hobby
