We had our club meeting yesterday and are doing 2 tracks. One an oval dirt then an off-road jumps turns etc plan on the Kagama for that so asking suggestions for this oval dirt track. Stay 4x4 or go RWD along with what model to go with, hope yall can give some help to a noob to the Rc car truck world

I know nothing about oval racing but would guess rwd, the new losi sprint 22 looks quite cool

Do rc YouTube channel also has good tear down video off it also. But if wanted to stay with corally could always try the new Syncro2 it’s rwd & would share a lot of parts with your kagama being based on the same chassis

Just bit the bullet and ordered the Team Corally Spark XB6 I have tons of 6s packs from my jets. Now I run 8s in them be nice to have something to use them with. Went with Green to match the Kagama do want to order front and rear bumper guards. Saw a video there a direct bolt on

lol I was about to share this vid showing if you went for the syncro2 you could have the option of rwd or 4wd as you’ve ordered new diffs for you kagama you could use them to upgrade the syncro but too late now 🤣. But if I’m honest I think the spark is the better buy, by time you upgrade drivecups diffs etc on syncro you probably end up spending more than cost of a spark & it comes with better arms hinge holders & aluminium shock towers better shocks etc, and there is more upgrades for the spark if wanna go down that route. But great choice I love green have the older buggy started life as python upgraded most of it put radix green body on it same as spark body just different livery. I also bought a new green car 😅 now I’m broke and corally bringing out all these new releases 😝

Love it, that’s also what I was thinking by the time I upgrade I’ll have the same or more money vested. Just took the Kagama rear differential apart cleaned oiled should have the new Aluminum replacement Saturday don’t think I wanna put it back together for now then have to strip right back down for the diff and shafts

I should of got a spark as the syncro 4 is slowly becoming one :ROFLMAO: its built to a price and it shows but the thing is a little tank just keeps on going, it got me in to buggies and I love it :).

Enjoying upgrading it as the syncro 4 has some parts that don't last well for my usage any way. Slowly swapping out the naff black out drive cups to the sexy spring steel ones as the stock ones wore out so fast and fitted the spark motor mount so I can adjust my own mesh now I know how to do it :D.

Good choice!
The Spark on 4s may be even beter for track use and plenty fast (if not enough, going up about 2 pinion teeth will most likely do the job). Keep it light for agility; on most tracks there isn't room to reach the top speed on 6s.

You'll enjoy that Spark!(y)

May sound crazy but I was thinking in that realm of course we haven’t done the track but I know on jets what a big difference 4 to 6s is. Jets 70-80 mph on 4 then on 6s I can get 100-133 on top level speeds. Hoping I won’t have issues with the Spark I am on the Kagama 4. Love the truck kinda wish I’d just gone 6s with it now too

I just said the exact on the Kagama, new aluminum diffs spring steel cups were $140 alone and I bought 3 extra front Cv axle assemblies so more or less if I’d bought the 6s Kagama I’d be at the same price. Still a fun truck I just don’t want something I have to keep fixing for the small things I’m doing with it. Could understand more if I was hard bashing mud hopping etc but I’m corn field runs with jumps I don’t even get a foot of air from

If you keep everything stock you'll definitely notice 4s vs 6s. If you'll use a bigger pinion you can get 6s speeds running on 4s. Typically for offroad bashing where I bash , I've found a top speed somewhere in the 45 to 60 mph range is the sweet spot (torque/top speed/controllabilty). If you have a nice open flat terrain can go faster, but then tire, diff tuning etc. become more important.

Planning on getting the adjustable motor mount for both trucks so I can fine tune like your saying. I haven’t checked speeds the Spark does stock but would think more than the Kagama 4s. We’re supposed to start on the tracks this weekend can send some shots once it’s finished then hopefully you could give suggestions on pinion sizes etc for me.

On the Kagama 4s I used 20k for the rear diff have to do the front today then I used some 100k for the ring gear pinion just for some lubrication. I have bearing grease if that would be better looked like that was what was in it from the factory

Any old off the shelf grease will work, I use car grease for my RCs its cheap and comes in big tins that will last me ages :D

I keep tubs also for the boat why I was asking. Like you have tons of it and actually need to get the boat ready soon

The ring and input gear typically get some grease on them for lubrication. Some use bearing, marine grease, lithium or Red&Tacky grease.
As for your Spark, if you plan to run it on 6s, I'd definitely run it stock first. If you have the feeling you you could use much speed in the corners and/or straights, then I'd go up to a bigger pinion.
A good way to get an idea for 'your' track setup, is to also ask around what others are running.

Was thinking run it stock first probably start 4s then throw a 6s in it, I do use SMC HIVOLT packs also hopefully that won’t be an issue. I’ll wipe down then install some bearing grease on this rear diff. Any other suggestions on the Spark

HV lipo's can be run without any issue.
I run my wheel axle grub screws without the factory glue, ehh I mean locktite . Carefull though you'll need a LOT of heat (soldering iron or jet flame lighter) to soften the factory locktite, otherwise you'll strip the grub screw (we've all been there!).
TC has its'heritage in buggy racing and found the stock the Spark was very solid. No loose screws, no additional shimming required 👌. As with basically all brands, usually one or more diffs can are a bit low on diff fluid.
You can change the esc settings with either the set button, or with the cheap (non LCD) Hobbywing programm card.

That’s awesome sounding more and more like I made a good decision on the Spark. Just finished servicing the front and rear diffs on the Kagama and decided to give her a good scrub. Figured clean all serviced once the new parts come in and she’s ready for bashing again. Thanks for the advise on the screw, we find that in a lot of Jets also glad I have a huge selection of extra screws etc
