Good question, my understanding is that one should use a piece of standard copy paper..obviously a cash register receipt or similar is much thinner..TBH I've even folded copy paper in half to double the thickness because I wasn't satisfied with single thickness. Wasn't sounding right while running the rig.I've used this method yes, but I've always wondered about all the different types of paper there are out there. Is the recommendation to just use standard printer bond paper? Whatever standard means!
Uh, yeah..that's what I was trying to saySo apparently paper is measured in GSM (Grams per Square Metre): https://www.corallyforum.com/threads/noobs-guide-to-setting-your-gear-mesh.243/#post-3930
According to that, standard copy paper is 80gsm, which is the equivalent to 100 microns thick, or 0.1mm. This is why I love this hobby so much, you learn something new every day and from so many different areas!
