I've been thinking about adding a Muraco or Shogun to my Radix6 for some time. Today I took the plunge and ordered a Muraco from RC Hobby Explosion.

I will be upgrading the Muraco a little at a time, just as I did with my Radix6. The first item to be upgraded will be the suspension mounts, which will get the TC 7075 version. After that, other items (e.g. chassis braces, shock towers, and aluminum steering deck) will be upgraded to the TC 7075 versions when they fit into my RC budget.

Did you order the older version or the new 2022 version?

When I emailed customer service at RC Hobby Explosion before I ordered the Muraco online, I was told that currently only the Kronos XTR is available in a 2022 version. I performed a web search of my own before I placed the order, and I found that the Corally web site shows the Kronos XTR as the only vehicle having a 2022 version. That being said, the Corally web site shows that the Muraco now includes the tower-to-tower brace and the heavy-duty steering blocks as standard equipment, but Corally didn't change the version number when they added them.

I got the Muraco about an hour ago, and it doesn't have the tower-to-tower chassis brace or the HD steering blocks that Corally says it is supposed to have. I have an email into RC Hobby Explosion to see if that is why the price is reduced or if I just got older stock. There were a lot of loose screws all over the chassis, which I have tightened up. The battery is charging, and I hope to get a run in later today.

I received clarification from RC Hobby Explosion. None of the Muracos imported to the US come with the TTT chassis brace and HD steering blocks. The inclusion of these items is a Europe-only promotion: the vehicle has to be ordered directly from the Corally Belgium headquarters at a higher cost than I paid, and both the cost to ship it and the shipping time would be a lot higher. For what I paid, even if I bought the chassis brace and HD steering blocks myself, I would pay less than if I had ordered my Muraco from Europe, plus I saved shipping time (I got mine in one day).

I'm not a big basher, so I don't really need the TTT chassis brace. The HD steering blocks are inexpensive ($9 each), so I'll buy them myself when I place my next parts order with RC Hobby Explosion.

This morning I ordered the TC 7075 shock towers for my Muraco. I'm still deciding if I want to upgrade to other TC 7075 aluminum parts (suspension hinge pin mounts, chassis braces, etc.) now or wait until something fails.

Upgrade when something breaks. That is what i always do
I think I'll wait to upgrade the Muraco until I either see wear on parts or until something breaks. The one exception is the shock towers, which I already ordered.

I installed a new receiver this morning so I could run my Muraco with the Radiolink RC6GSV2 transmitter I use with five other vehicles. Now I need to work on getting the settings (i.e. steering expo) to my liking.

After getting the new receiver installed, I noticed that the servo arm was far off center from the factory. It was so far off that using steering trim to center the wheels would have been an issue. I pulled the arm off the servo and re-centered the wheels as close as I could at zero steering trim on the transmitter. Now I need just a bit of steering trim to get the wheels centered.

Next up is taking out the diffs and checking the fluid level.
