Just thought I'd share some info for anyone interested in some "race" tires for an 8s rig such as K8 or O8s. I run on a track at home 99% of the time. My brother and I run weekends on it. It's nothing great, but is what we enjoy vs driving around looking for bash spots. It's mainly hardpack clay so traditional basher tires don't really hook up very well. They're fun for drifting around on, but to really get hooked up, we use pin type race tires. I've been trying to find something suitable for the big boys, Arrma 8s, I have a set of Duratrax 1/5 SC Dineros, which handle excellent, but too hard a compound. They're around 7" tall, 2.75" wide. I thought about something made for the Losi 5ive T, but a set of (hard to find) proper beadlocks, inserts and tires will easily run around $300 a set. I'm not even sure the 4.75" wheels will clear the Arrma hubs either. That's alot of coin for a maybe IMO.
Then I discovered some GRP 1/6 "buggy" tires, $120 a set, 7" tall, 2.75" wide.. oh yeah, I got a set on order!! I'll share some photos once I get them.
