Kronos Kronos Issue think it is diff

Hey Guys I have a 6s Kronos and hear like a snaping clicking shound when I hit the trottle hard. I am thinking it is a issue with the diff. I notice when the car is off the ground and I spin the rea wheel by hand both rear wheels spin the same direction. I though the other side was supposed to go in the opposite direction of the one I was turning. What could be causing this any ideas? If it is the diff can I put a Kagama diff in the Kronos as they are way cheaper.

With it off the ground try manually spinning both wheels in the opposite direction and see how that feels, the fact they both turn in the same direction could be something as simple as the center diff being empty so it's easier for it to unload vs the the diff unloading. If everything feels fine another thing to check would be the bearings for the diff input pinion, I've had one get sloppy and under acceleration it was allowing that input pinion to cock sideways a bit and the gears would skip across each other. Lastly yes, a kagama 6s diff will swap right in
 
Thanks for the reply I am new to this so sorry if these sound like dub questions. When I manually spin them in opposite directions it will go but it is stiff and doesn't want to unless i force it. I could get a video later when I get off work if that helps. This would be a rear diff issue not a center correct as the front works fine.
 
There is no dumb questions! If it's fighting then yes to have an issue, good chance it broke one of the cross pins for the spider gears inside the diff.
 
Ok is that something I should replace the pin, or should I just buy a new rear diff? It drives good just makes a popping noise when hit the throttle hard and it has the issue when I manually turn the tires.
 
If that's the case the pins are available by themselves for cheap however being a plastic diff housing there's a good chance the grooves they slide into are jacked, also the gears may be in bad shape too, best to take apart and inspect then decide if it makes more sense to fix or just replace the whole diff.

Didn't have a chance to pull it apart last night but did run it and it seems to be running good even with the tire issue when manually turning them. This weekend I will pull it apart.
 
Here's a few more photos I'm not really sure what I'm looking at I don't know if the gears are like shredding or if that's just normal wear but it looks odd to me

Is there any other team corally rear diffs that work on the Kronos as I am having a hard time finding a rear diff. I found some new take off on ebay but for the Jambo and the shogun but didn't know if they would work
 
Hard to tell if anything damaged , need to clean off all grease with something like brake cleaner. nothing internally looks broken. If need to replace it any 6s front or rear diff will work they are all the same. But nothing looks broken so unless there is wear/damage on spur gear teeth first pic top teeth look might have a little but hard to tell
 
Ok I have it soaking in a bowl of brake cleaner now. The bearing look shot. Sorry am new to this first time doing a diff rebuild type thing but if I just buy a new spark one it will work
 
All the parts for the diff are available to buy you don’t need to buy a complete new diff, you could if you wanted but yes a spark diff would work. Just look at it once clean if something is damaged it shouldn’t be too hard to spot. Probably damage on teeth. If want buy complete diff try rc breakers like RCSpares or jennysRC

Sadly it looks like the input gear and the diff crown gear have been slipping, and eating each other. Usually this is cause by a loose meshing, and a probable cause of this is the input shaft bearings going bad.
On my list to fix this would be:-
Crown gear,
Input bevel gear,
Input shaft bearings (X2)
Diff bearings (X2)
O-ring seals

However, check the kit breakers - Jenny's, eBay etc, as you might get a complete gearbox with everything for not much more than the bare parts cost to fix it.

On the plus side, the inside of the diff looks ok!
