I’ve hit a roadblock in my build, seems there is an update on the diff spur and pinion as Partydaz says. Also I found there is an error on the parts supplied, manual states 13x16x0.2mm shims for the diffs to the diff case, where as they shipped me 12x16x0.2mm (not in manual or bill of material)

which does not route through from externally to the cup. The cups are larger than the 12mm diameter.

They didn’t take the proactive action to send me the gear in advance, only when I complained about the shims…😢and yes those shims are needed if not it will have too much play.

At a dilemma as to continue or stop. As I’ve left my home base and having to do for the rest of the week while on holiday I’ve mostly decided to plough on and risk gear breakage 😬👹.

Sounds like them giving me shims aswell is a way around me moaning when I come to build the kit 😂 they must know of errors in the kits / manual and trying fix it, shame they didn't sort yours out till you asked about it😬.

Still waiting on new version of gearboxes with new shims to turn up, they sent the new gearboxs with extras not long after they shipped the kit but bit longer on the diff gears I think as they are still making them and not sent out yet ?

Where did you get the info from may I ask?, cool keeping on top of updates and this google translation stuff works wonders :D

That but in English if anyone else stumbles across this page..

You should still be able to use the 12mm, right? They're not going to pull through are they? The slop is removed by the 0.2mm. 13 Vs 12 mm would only matter if the shims would slip through. Doubtful as the difference between 13mm shim and 12mm is just 0.5mm each side, right? Try the 12mm and be done. 🤞

Use the supplied gears and see what happens. It's kinda on them either way....🤣🤞

Oh I am 😂 got a free weekend now so going build it new bits or not, post man dude has been and no kkpit stuff so I'll get cracking, been local hobby shop get paints was only going get shell done but seeing how I got a free weekend and a kit just sitting on the table be rude not build it 😄.

If it blows up when I take it out for a blast I'll have the updated parts by then :)

I'll have one of these if I start dipping in energy later 😄, had one at my girlfriends last weekend I am not a coffee fan but I have it for the pick me up when needed and this stuff is like turbo fuel for me 😵‍💫. Only need one anymore than that and you'll be seeing different time lines or communing with your ancestors!

It’s really hard to slip through. Not even sure right now whether the cups are actually 13mm as I don’t have a caliper with me. What I have done now is to entirely pull out the drive cups and route it with the cups removed. Ala Arrma.

Can I know more details about the gearbox fix? The bulkheads I presume? I might want New’s ones too lol.

Sorry I’m on my phone, replies and posts are going to be poorly formatted

Exactly my plans!

They made new gearboxs/bulk heads new improved I assume, they did say the old version was put in my mistake.

Done the shell but needs tidying up I'll do that before stickering up, now I am getting stuck into the build :D.

I chatted with the customer service, it’s 10pm Saturday China time and I got a reply, he said my kit does not need a new bulkhead as it only applies to a batch of Aug kits that were “packed incorrectly”.

After building the bulkheads I think I can see why they are replacing them, the manual says use one shim on the crown gear side if needed but it had loads of slop with one shim. I found it needed 3 shims to get it snug but it could be better and three shims was a tight fit to get the housing together.

They must have better tolerances on the new ones were less shims are needed to get a better mesh.

If I have to guess this is also the reason but they insist it was packing error in the sense of three front and 1 rear cover that kind of thing.

I too need at least 2 shims on both bulkheads just to eliminate the slop.

Increase volume

The gears are not meshing well….diff rework is a big pain, the whole bulkhead needs to be released from the bottom, and 10-12 screws in total to be released to uncap the gearbox. Anyway since the input gear also need to be replaced.

Yup sounds like mesh problems  , how many shims did you manage to get on the diffs? . Going run mine this weekend if it stops raining .

I got 2, one for each side. Managed to discuss with Kkpit, they’ve had a setback in getting the new gears in. They said the hardness did not meet the required spec and will get returned for another round / day of hardening.

Two 4s packs in no problems yet🤞thing is super smooth and very quiet running , handles like a dream. Fast enough with a 4275 2200kv motor loads of torque with cool running temps no motor fan required, 40mins run time at 1/4 trigger with a few 1/2 trigger blasts good enough for my needs :)
