My Hobao Hyper GTB has a similar drive angle and yet the cups have not worn I wonder what the difference is?
Horsepower/Torque and size of wheel.

Suboptimal drive angles rob power, reduce efficiency and increase wear rate.

It has the same size motor as in my Shiroi and a similar size ESC, and is geared higher. It's actually a lot faster than the truck and the wheels are 110mm vs 120mm. Technically it's a Hyper GTB but it's been buggy-ized with bigger wheels and the body posts replaced by body mounts for a buggy body and a buggy rear wing added which were drop in fits because the Hobao 1/8 buggy stares the same chassis plate and diff bulkheads. So it's now a street buggy with touring car suspension and bigger tires.

testing the methodRC terraform tires : 1st decption : they are a tad too small in diameter 2nd point : compound is too hard !
so they don't drive nicely... even worse that stock asuga tires !

Are those the ones made for the Mojave 4s? Too bad the compound is a miss, the Asuga, Mojave and UDR all use a very similar sized tire. Not much out there for options sadly. Have you tried the Proline Hyrax? They may be better, I imagine the rubber is much more compliant.
Also, for anyone interested in the Method Geoforms, they're also sold under the RCAWD banner for quite a bit cheaper. Method RC is getting $38 per pair, RCAWD is $49 for a set of 4.

yes, the terraform are smaller and fit 1/8 cars, like the corally short course.

i also tried the jconcept landmine made for the mojave : i like them because they are narrow, like a buggy tire. but they balloon a lot

i will try the mojave stock tires too

about the hyrax : do you know more about those ? do they balloon ?

I have the Proline Hyrax tyres on my UDR cannot say I have noticed any ballooning but they are under a massive shell and I don't drive it flat out that much because something would probably blow up 😅. The tyre compound is pretty hard on par with stock udr tyres but feels better material, the grip is way better compared to stock udr tyres, it will traction roll at the mere sight of a grippy surface with them tyres on 😆.

I also had the Hyrax tyres on a 1/10th crawler and they worked brilliantly on any off road surface 🙂.

I haven’t any experience with them. I have a set of the Proline Mirage TT, which are belted and rated to 70mph, but also Mojo/UDR size (5.25”). Not very aggressive tread either. Good for tarmac I imagine, definitely not sand or loose dirt.
The Arrma Fortess 6s for the Mojave may be your best bet for a durable and aggressive tread pattern in the size, assuming the Hyrax do balloon, which I'm guessing they will with all the power you're putting to them in that Asuga.

I have a UDR as well, I concur. It's a fantastic rig in respect to scale appearance and performance, but not exactly durable. I put some Redcat +10mm extended wheel adapters on mine with intentions of running 1/8 truggy race rubber on it. They fit perfectly, the UDR looks menacing with the wide rubber tucked inside the wheel wells. I had to remove the rear sway bar for tire clearance on the back and trim out the body at the front wheel wells. I'm really excited to see how much grip it gets on my clay track in the backyard! Also worried how much carnage it'll do to the fragile UDR drivetrain, LOL. AND the dreaded traction rolling! I might try to shed some weight and run it on 4s.
I've run the Arrma Fortress 6s tires on the UDR in stock form, but the wheels rub the caster block retaining screws. Apparently the TRX wheels have a bit more offset than the Arrma Mojo wheels do. Now with the +10mm extensions they Mojo wheels fit perfectly. Also, I have a set of the Arrma Katar T's from an Arrma Talion here, they fit the UDR now too. +10mm adds alot of tire options to the UDR, including 1/8 buggy wheels/tires, though they are quite small on it.

Maybe try the Arrma Katar T made for the Talion? They are known to be super durable, 5.75", a tad taller than the stock Asuga tires and the Katar's are fairly aggressive tread. They have belted and non belted versions, or at least they used to. Not sure if both are still available.
I have used the Katar T on my Mojo 6s and currently have them mounted up on my UDR. We have snow on the ground here right now. I ran the UDR the other night with the Fortress tires, good times! The UDR does great in the snow!

Hyrax balloon significantly on my Asuga without strapping and they also traction roll easily on grass. The Aliexpress UDR copies work well on grass though (after strapping of course)

I have stopped buying expensive tires for my Asuga, it just annihilates tires expensive and cheap alike. That's what happens when you shoehorn a 1/6 scale motor and ESC into a 1/8 size car I guess.
