The spark is my do all for right now light bashing ( need taller tires before going harder ) track style racing around on Stock or Badland tires. Maybe y’all could suggest some wheel/tire combos that will better jumping wise. The stock and Badlands just don’t have enough to rotate in the air how I’m wanting, don’t get me wrong for what they should be used for there both great with a plus side to the Badlands much better grip

Does the spark have the taller mount? I know my radix and python had the shorter mounts since they come with the 46t spur stock they don't need the extra clearance, if the spark does too that motor won't clear the chassis, I'm not overly familiar with what the spark uses so can't say for sure. Other downside is it is a heavy system to put in such a light car, I'm running a max6 in my python but have it paired with a castle 1515/2200kv to keep the weight down.
 
Agree with angrysection8 the 4990 too heavy for the spark for bashing, even the max6 is abit overkill for a buggy, unless speed running a max6 combo wouldn’t be my choice for bashing in a buggy. Max8 with the 4292 1780kv what I run in mine 60mph+ no temps issues I run off road on grass 17/46 gearing. The spark does have the same lower motor mount same as python/radix. The spark is just an updated radix/python.
 
Ok sounds good glad I didn’t spend that money, I’m happy with the stock motor even the ESC has been ok. Maybe leave that and concentrate on the Kagama swap to 6s

Awesome, Grandson somehow broke the Kagama4 steering rack yesterday I’m still not sure how he did that one. Luckily I have 2 7075 spares for him, back running in no time.

A HW 4985 or a CC 1717 are similar and both have close to twice the power of a Kuron 825, and you are only stepping to a 17t or 18t pinion. I started with that, and i went up on the pinions until i settled for 21/46.
Anything less of a pinion hardly puts any load on those motors in an Asuga that isn't that big of a car.

The main reason I went to a 1717 and a 200A ESC was the HW max 8 combo I had in it kept going into thermal shutdown, and I was using a stock 13T pinion and 2250 motor with 6S batteries. Must be something about how I drive but with the new power system no more overheating. Also even with a 15t pinion the acceleration is so extreme I had to set the ESC to level 3 acceleration (the equivalent of level 3 "punch" on a HW ESC)
 
I’m sure after I find somewhere to really drive I’ll look into more for what I’m doing now the Spark has been great after installing a motor fan. Backed down to a 15t punch level 4 has helped me from shredding tires so much.
