Afternoon all, what do you all have your drag brakes set at?

I was quite shocked to find mine was set quite high which probably accounts for why my kagama4 was nose diving so sharply when I'd let off the gas mid-flight.

Also probably explains my short runtimes.

Interested to hear your thoughts.

Don't use drag brake for bashers its like a auto brake thingy, think it's turned off by default on all my ESCs. It's more of a crawler setting I use it on my crawlers to slow them down on hill descents.

I mean you can use it but it's going make your car use more power and make more heat with how fast these things whizz about.

Yup, that's how I thought it worked.
Mine was set to 10%, I'll definitely set it to zero. Hopefully I'll get much longer run times. Cheers

No drag brakes, ever.

That's how I set mine. If I need brakes - I apply them and decide how much. There are situations where you need the car to be able to coast - where only the motor's cogging provides deceleration at neutral trigger/stick position.

Having drag brakes essentially removes that option.

This is particularly problematic when conditions are slippery.

Drag brakes might be more useful on high traction surfaces, or indoor carpet. 👍
