I seem to have one deformed tyre,

I'd love to upload an animated gif of it so you can see what I mean, but for what ever reason I'm seemingly unable too

I can only assume it's from when my car was sat in the box. Is there anyway to reshape it? It does cause quite a bit of oscillation at lower speeds but at higher speeds the ballooning stretches it right again. Or do I just buy a new set of Kaijus?

With my eye damage really hard for me to see definitely saw the wobble either way isn’t a good thing. Can you try running it on a straight rim to see if it works itself out kinda like breaking in a tire?
 
So I managed to order a pair of kagama tyres for £23 which seemed like a reasonable price

This morning I did a bit more testing, taking off both rear wheels and then running them individually each side, and it's safe to say the oscillation is definitely down to that one wheel and tire. Thankfully there is no oscillation through the drive train or suspension when using the good wheel on either side so that's a relief .

I'm wondering if this is why my air control so far has been completely and utterly erratic, with the car never seeming to be level and twisting in the air.. I'm hoping the new wheel and tire solves that issue and I can finally achieve some consistent air control.
 
I’d definitely imagine a wheel/tire being like that would mess up high speed and air control. I messed up a Spark rim that I’m planning on just removing the tire mounting on a good rim when the time comes
 
Tyre looks like it's bulging, so either the insert has got its panties in a wad, or, perhaps the most likely thing is that it's wet inside. 🤔

The only way you find out is by taking the tyre off the rim - using acetone, or by boiling the wheel/tyre till the CA glue gives up and lets go.

It goes without saying that wheels/tyres have to be true. They really should be balanced properly, too.

Either issue will cause other problems due to vibration, and at certain resonating speeds, this will kill bearings, suspension arms, driveshafts etc.
 
Yeah, I decided to not run it till I get the new wheel, because I can easily see the oscillations putting a lot of unnecessary stress, wear and tear on the lower arm and hub assembly.

I hear ya, odd thing is I've never got her wet, and she was essentially brand new in the box when it came to me, wasn't a mark on her. I'll probably disassemble that tyre as you said just out of sheer curiosity.

Will jerry rig some balance apparatus too, what are people using to balance, I'm sure ive seen people use plumbers putty

This is what I use. With a little blutac for any weight that isn't divisible by 2.5g.

Works for me.

So I finally got round to taking my kagama4 out with a good tyre on, found a half decent dirt BMX track in Crawley to bash on and my god it's a revelation .

With the rear oscillating wobble gone it finally flies straight and level, I was finally able to practice some very basic air control, the inputs from the throttle finally does what I expect it to do. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a very long way from backflips and front flips, but being able to fly 20ft and get consistent 4 wheel landings from my throttle inputs felt good, I was honestly getting ready to move it on but I'm happy I didn't.

That's great news! Yep - it's essential that wheels are round, true and balanced. 🤩👌

Awesome job I haven’t don’t a front flip yet myself, backs not an issue and super fun. Just do as you feel comfortable no need in rushing anything

My Kagama4 will actually front flip on hard braking whilst driving in a straight line, no ramp required 😅
