Well, between the 2 you had mentioned max8/2200 for the budget or Castle if you got the coin.. Either will make it RIP I'd say?

Total overkill for 4s, actually will slow it down by a touch since it's definitely heavier than a max8?
So, a max 8 would make the stock motor run better than the stock esc? Just trying to learn...sorry for the question's:rolleyes:

Maybe. Max8 is a 150a ESC. Stock is a 135a, so it can send more power to the motor.

I am not going to use the stock motor though. Using a Max8 with a hobbywing 2200kv motor. It is a little larger can, and longer also. Though the stock motor is a 2150kv....just a bit smaller motor though, so less power.

You would also have to change to the 6.5mm bullet connectors. ...and the wiring is smaller.

Ok. Made up my mind. Going with the Castle Monster X 2200kv sensored combo. I love this combo in my Tekno.

Main reason I was wanting max8 was for the ESC mounting. I like that it has screw holes in the bottom and the stock ESC plate can screw into it, and that I could use the stock switch mount. Hate the little Castle switch, and that the ESC has to be mounted without screws, but I guess will deal with it.

Shoe goo it to the mounting plate.

3m vht tape is amazing. Won't need a zip tie with it either..although I do love me some zip ties(and bias plies)👌

Correction..VHB tape🙄

Can you drill 4 pilot holes into the esc? Obviously not deep. Been wondering this with a spektrum ESC I have. Haven't really looked at it yet though.
I did this with a max6 I put in a kexb. Was a bit apprehensive since the max6 was brand new..so far,so good😎

Well - this should take care of my power expectations.

Funniest thing is I was telling people on arrmaforum like a year ago that Corally had faster electronics, and everyone was like "no, they're just geared higher" and "no, it's just a max8 in red"...

... that's when I started buying all the Corally electronics from Jenny's, etc. Don't say I didn't tell ya!

With the Castle bluetooth link? Or isnt that possible.
Speaking of wich. Corally is comming with some sort of link 2? Because the XTR had a holder. Any news on that?
No, it doesn't come with the link.

I think it's for a gps/speed recorder thingy?

For the Castle you can program your ESC

would be nice if Corally came up with something like that.

Really not worth it for a basher. I set the settings at the start where I want them and never mess with them again. After that - I only use the standard USB computer link if I have an issue, then I pull down the log data.
