Anyone know why corally don't use bearing circlip retainers? My dog leg started coming loose and was horrified to see the bearing coming out also on the rear differential set up.

Typically at the size of ball race bearings we use, they don't use circlips. Other than the seals (or metal shields) - if they come apart, they're done and should be replaced.

Probably because they are a pain in the butt to work on. Flying to the other side of the room when one slips off the tool.
After a bash turn the wheels by hand and if you hear a crunchy sound start thinking of replacing them. Another indicator is when the car starts to be more difficult to run straight; most likely a bearing is having more resistance than the others.
 
It's not so much a Corally thing - none of rigs I run - even my Gasser - have any bearings with circlips. Shields and Seals, yes - circlips, no. Even main bearings in my engines are made in the same way as the diagram above.

Some deep groove bearings have them, but I'm not aware of any current RC car that uses that type of bearing.

If anyone knows of any that do, please post here!

The Yikong TB7 (and DF7) has these c-clips.

Looks like an assembly consisting of circlips, but the bearings themselves aren't constructed with them.

I was unpleasantly surprised when I tried to do diff maintenance on my TB7; “wtf are those!?”😂
No, they are not part of the bearing, but I do think they would prevent the bearing ring detaching from the bearing.
