Anyone know why corally don't use bearing circlip retainers? My dog leg started coming loose and was horrified to see the bearing coming out also on the rear differential set up.
Probably because they are a pain in the butt to work on. Flying to the other side of the room when one slips off the tool.Anyone know why corally don't use bearing circlip retainers? The Yikong TB7 (and DF7) has these c-clips.It's not so much a Corally thing - none of rigs I run - even my Gasser - have any bearings with circlips. Shields and Seals, yes - circlips, no. Even main bearings in my engines are made in the same way as the diagram above.
Some deep groove bearings have them, but I'm not aware of any current RC car that uses that type of bearing.
If anyone knows of any that do, please post here!

I was unpleasantly surprised when I tried to do diff maintenance on my TB7; “wtf are those!?”Nice find!
But are they part of the bearing?
Looks like an assembly consisting of circlips, but the bearings themselves aren't constructed with them.
TB7 looks like an interesting rig.I was unpleasantly surprised when I tried to do diff maintenance on my TB7; “wtf are those!?”
No, they are not part of the bearing, but I do think they would prevent the bearing ring detaching from the bearing.
It is. Super tough drivetrain and HW max8 combo. Since I liked my FTX DR8 more and the TB7’s solide read axle was not a total different driving experience, I sold the TB7 and got a KagamaTB7 looks like an interesting rig.![]()
