Ran my new Kagama 4 for the first time yesterday. After about 4 packs I lost most of my steering. It seems the servo saver adjustment ring is all the way down on the chassis plate. Must have moved down somehow, I didn't look before how it was set, but this seems like the most logical explanation as I can move the wheel almost all the way without the servo arm even moving.

I found a lot of videos that show how to easily tighten the ring, but they all seem to have a special hole in the chassis for inserting a tool. My Kagama 4 does not have such a hole. With my finger I can't even get the ring to turn a quarter of a turn, eventhough I can compress the spring with my finger. What would be the easiest way to tighten it? I don't like to damage the ring but avoiding completely disassembling the front would be preferred.

This way don’t need any special tool.

Yeah, that doesn’t work as turning the wheels doesn’t even move the ring. It also seems I would damage the ring this way?

You'll scuff the thumbscrew and remove the red anodising. That being said, many don't really care - it's not readily seen.

The main problem is the spring is to weak to keep enough tension on the ring to prevent from turning.

Changing the spring is the win win solution.

Alright, thanks for these tips and you as well @Nelson.81 . I was able to manually tighten the ring a bit after removing the servo. Now your video should work as well. Will give it a try and test run before searching for a better spring.

Thanks a ton!

Old steering servo saver spring. Weak, clamped right up - virtually no saving action.

New Lee Spring - much firmer rate. Doesn't loosen and the spring has much more space between the coils.

More steering, better centering, much better response and greater consistency.

👌

Huge difference indeed! Just read your other thread. Unfortunately you are out of stock currently, right?

I ordered 1 batch of springs and sold them all on eBay. They were sold out within the first few hours.

I was selling for them around £5 per spring plus postage, which similar to the price of the stock part! Night/day difference.

The springs I sell are sourced from Lee Spring UK, but are manufactured in the USA.

Lee Spring are a great company, but their website is goofy and the payment system is glitchy. Their springs are first rate. 👍

Maybe I should do the same, buy a batch and sell them like you did.
Well, let's first test this car a bit more with the default spring on 3s before I take on such a project 😅

No reason why not!

I've not had enough time to continue selling batches of springs because I've been working 12-16 hours straight for the past 12 consecutive days. 😬

Whilst I find it interesting selling springs, more than 50% of the orders are for export, which requires customs declarations and an extra layer of faff. There's some other certification required for exporting items to Germany.

It's all time consuming. So I sell them in batches and to be honest, it's a relief when they're all sold - as I'm no longer bound to dropping parcels here, there, and everywhere! 🤣😝

Just received a reply from Team Corally support. They think my O-ring got damaged or is missing so they're sending me new ones (alongs with the CVD upgrade). Great service, let's try that first!

Dammit!
wtb 5 lee Springs

I think even my Kraton could do with one!
At least in the USA, 5 springs is about what you need to buy before shipping becomes reasonable when dealing direct from Lee springs. So perhaps buy a large quantity and resell on eBay I your country?

That's precisely what I do. The problem is: international selling. The springs I sent out to one my American customers are still showing as not delivered.

I dispatched them on the 15th and everyone has confirmed receipt. So why doesn't eBay release my money? 🤬

Don't get me wrong, it's not like the £10 is going to wreck me, but it does mean that the exercise of selling springs around the world resulted in a net loss, through no fault of my own. Despite the time and effort.

So in this instance - seller beware! 🤣

That sucks, hope it ebay resolves it soon. I know I appreciated the hook up
Thanks buddy, you're most welcome. It's just eBay being awkward. For whatever reason, the delivery side of things has glitched.

The thing is, you can't really take something like this into account with a batch of 10 springs. No-one would appreciate the random 20% increase in price. 😅

Ran 2 packs through it with a new ring and the servo saver adjustment collar is still in the same place. Problem solved hopefully! Great support from Team Corally.

It will help that the adjustment collar doesn't back off, but the spring is still soft - even when clamped. The only time it isn't is when it's fully compressed solid, which of course at that point no longer affords any saving action whatsoever.

Sure, but I’m just a simple basher 😅
