Ive noticed the rear output on my center diff is getting alot of slop. Alot more then the front output has. Whats going on here?

Not sure what the problem is, but mine is doing the same..I even have what appears to be gease coming out. I may have over filled the center diff and the diff fluid may have found a way out? Not sure, but my rear output cup has quite a bit of play.
You may be able to add a shim behind the sun gear as a temp fix.. I think either the spur or the output shaft is worn, creating the slop?

I should also mention that my drivetrain completely locked up at full song a few weeks back..turns out one of the screws holding the spur gear to the diff cup had backed out and eventually caught the motor mount. Bent the screw right over.. that's an issue I have with the spur gear motor mount cover, can't see whats going on in there..otherwise, I may have seen the screw was loose.

Thats what i am thinking.. there needs to be a bushing in the spurgear to keep the output from wearing the hole bigger. I am going to contact corally

Worth a try, might get you some free parts. I have several 1/8 rigs from different manufacturers, none of them use bushings in those parts. I'd have to believe it would keep things from wearing, but no bushings or bearings that I've seen on any of them.

I guess they're considered consumable parts..? I used a TC complete center diff from a Radix in my Xray buggy because the complete diff from JRC was half the cost of an Xray spur gear!! 🤣🤣 works perfectly 👌

I hate to say, but I'm starting to question the quality of TC's metal parts.. I've seen posts from other members here having issues with drive cups (Sketer), as have I (XTR),also weak steer links (I"ve broken 2), shock stand offs, shock shafts, and now the drive cup shaft/spur gear..? Oh, and another member here with a pinion gear (TC brand) missing teeth, yet the spur looks perfect..? Not trying to put them down by any means, I do enjoy the XTR I have but I don't feel as though I'm that hard on my rigs. I have Tekno, Arrma, Redcat, Traxxas, Thunder Tiger and Xray rigs that all get the same treatment. I'm seeing more issues from my XTR than the others.. Maybe it's just growing pains since TC is new to the basher market? I'm not convinced that's the case though since they've been at it in RC racing for years supposedly? IDK.

I have noticed that my drive cups are all getting grooved from the dog bones. I have about 10packs worth of run time, all 4s

You can see it on this drive cup if you zoom in

Mine too, all of them, input, output.. even the front center dog bone is showing significant and uneven wear.. I've only run 6s maybe 3 or 4 times. Once I saw the drive parts wearing, I switched back to 4s. Their metal parts quality needs to be better IMO. The "swiss" parts will easily be over $100 to buy, but after seeing people have issues with them on the Sketer I'm not convinced they're going to solve the problem. Guess it's time to start knocking on TC's door..

TBH, my XTR is giving me haunting reminders of a Redcat Avalanche XTE I bought 10 years ago..couldn't get more than a couple packs through it without rebuilding diffs and replacing axles constantly. I'm not saying the Corally is that bad, but I can't afford to, nor will I, throw parts at it when I have other brands that hold up better to the same use.. sad to think the XTR might end up in a dark corner with the Avalanche and Tmaxx..😔

I bought mine because i got it at a good price. After electronics i have about 640usd in it.. wonder if i should have just bought a kraton v5 for less overal and called it a day

IDK.. I hate to torture myself like that, but it's our nature right? LOL.
I actually have both, Kraton EXB also.. I'm not sure it's a fair comparison since the Kraton has a Max6/4092 combo vs the XTR with the Corally torox 185/kuron 825 combo.. but uh, the Kraton should be showing more wear/breakage with the bigger combo and running 6s full time(with bigger tires too). That's not the case tho, the Kraton drivetrain isn't showing any wear..my XTR has been run on backflip LP's since day one.
I'm pretty close on build cost for both actually since Arrma had a fire sale( some call it) last year on the EXB for $329. I had literally just bought my XTR ($409) but couldn't resist. They do have different handling characteristics to some point, but maybe that's from the Kraton being so ridiculously overpowered. IDK.
I haven't heard alot about the TC drivetrain wear, but then again, it's not nearly as popular as the Kraton either. Maybe that's why?

I think the best thing we can do for now is report our issues to TC and see what they have to offer? I am very hesitant to buy any replacement parts without knowing they will last longer than stock.. a gamble on a relatively unknown/unproven brand I suppose(TC).

Sorry if I'm being too critical of TC.. To be fair, Arrma is on their 5th version whereas TC is technically only on their 2nd..

I'm nowhere near ready to give up on the XTR, just a bit frustrated.. hey, at least it's not a TRX where you pay more for less:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I presume you're referring to older models and not the Spring Steel Outdrives on the 2022 XTR right?

I thought that would solve the problem (and it might).. but after hearing of @Mr. Fring (and others)having issues with Sketer outdrives (spring steel) I'm not convinced.. mine is a '21 model so I don't have the spring/swiss cups. I'm a bit bummed to have to spend $100 on a "maybe" it'll solve my problems.. that's all. I could be wrong.

Well I have the 22 version and I see no signs of wear what so ever. But I only have like 4 of 5 packs on it, and only 4S.

Take my cries with a grain of salt..I'm a chronic complainer, just ask my wife!🤣🤣

In corally's defense they did suggest there may have been a manufacturing issue with some of the spring steel where it wasn't hardened correctly. I'm not sure... but I did replace them with warranty parts. I'll see if I can get pics of those to see if they are wearing better

I can understand a bad batch got unkowingly sent out. I'm just weary of spending money on upgrades that shouldn't be needed and possibly not be any better..
