Corally fellowship,

I have ran the new combo a few times now on a 18t pinion and man it pulls hard, never seen the asuga do power wheelies on take off. I'm unsure if a 20t is going to be problematic, we drive at a massive sports field with 2 connecting ovals and grass no taller than 10cm and very well kept. Diff weights are 60k front 200k middle and 30k rear. What can I change to make the most of this set up. Running in weather no higher than 25c
Thanks

If motor temps fine gear up. I run 18/46 on bigger tire so you should be fine on a smaller tire. Though I did put mine into thermal the other day it’s usually fine on that gearing but I think the new bodyshell with carbon reinforcement might be acting like a heat shield/blanket maybe need to open it up a bit at the back or add bit of ventilation to it. But max6 esc/motor has thermal protection so not a major issue

Other than more heat a larger pinion also sends more rpm's into the drivetrain. I assume driving on a massive sportsfield you want more pace or at least aiming for driving at some serious speed.
Can you tell if the powerwheelies come from actual rear grip+power or due to front wheel ballooning?
In case of the second it might be good to go for thicker diff oil, especially in the center (500k+), when you want a bigger pinion/more topspeed without uncontrollable launches. It will hurt fast corners though.
If it's really due to rear grip and you want more topspeed, bigger wheels like Nelson might be a better idea. Though Asuga wheels are awesome for trackish racing/bashing for any car larger than 1/8. I use them on my buggied arrma fireteam with a ridiculous castle powertrain, but topspeed is not a criteria there. I have no real experience with large ovals in terms of speed vs grip. I do know if it looks uncontrollable fast, often it's not that fast. You'll see the difference when you are driving next to a car that really dialled in for its purpose.

I'm kind of wishing to have gone sensored now so it can shut down if needed but I'll just keep temp gun ready, thanks

Yeah, wheelies was from grip. As suggested by members I went with the method rc terraform and they are brilliant, being tall they handle grass really well. I'm thinking of bumping center up to 500k, next chance I get ill run the 20t and see how it goes

Going up on the centre will induce more wheelies - so keep that in mind. 👍
