Do hub extensions put more strain on wheel hubs?
I'm having trouble with Louise uphills, thinking maybe width equals extra leverage on the hub wich is giving me dramas if that makes sense.

Are you experiencing hub failures or hub bearing failures?

The answer to your question is likely yes, but it usually results in the bearings failing first due overloading a bearing when the wheels center of mass is shifted too far from the middle distance of the two hub bearings.

It's the replacable plastic hub centers that are breaking, no bearing failures.

I had 10mm ADU extensions on my asuga and they were damaging the bearings, I took them off in the end

Sounds like you need some alloy adapters. IDK if the Louise use the same 8x32 bolt pattern as Duratrax and Proline. I know many have issues with the plastic hex adapters that come with the Proline wheels too, they break, especially the extended ones. I have a set of the Proline Mirage TT wheels/tires for the Mojave. They came with zero and 1/2 offset adapters. I used the zero offset on the Mojave and never had a break, but the offset adds strain to them. It would be nice if we could get confirmation on the bolt pattern..
here are some possible options.
