Hi, I’m very happy with my Kagama 6S LE, but I wanted to ask if there’s any way to stiffen the shocks more. The chassis always hits the ground massively, on dirt jumps it’s less noticeable, but when jumping more than 2–3 meters at skate parks, the impact of the chassis against the ground feels too strong. I checked the oil, put in 1000 CST, increased preload and ride height, but it still happens. My brother has a Sledge and I also have an Outcast 4S (800 CST), and the shocks absorbs the impact much better and more smoothly, with less rebound and a more progressive feel. I’m thinking about installing Kraton 6S shocks, but I don’t know if it would improve things. Has anyone swapped them? Any recommendations?

You could try fitting harder springs, Kraton shocks are better fitted them to my Kronos. Another option is sota shocks

From what I've seen, the stock springs are the stiffest they offer, unless I'm mistaken. The Sota kit seems very complex, expensive, and risky. I've also seen the GPM shocks for Kraton, but I haven't seen anyone try them. If you have the Kraton shocks installed, has it improved what I mentioned in the post?

Kraton shocks are emulsion type not bladders. Better for jumps. Measure spring thickness you’ll see what’s fitted.

The stock springs are the stiffest (hard) in the range. I finally bought the four Kraton 6S V6 shocks, which are the same as the EXB but in black, look better on my Kagama than the red ones and were cheaper. I bought them from JennysRC.
I'm not sure how the plastic protector will fit, but if necessary I'll design it and print it in TPU.
 
What modifications are needed to run the Arrma shocks?

The TC upper shock cap has a slightly more curved eyelet than the Arrma's. You just have to dremel away some material inside the shock protectors and they will fit.

I have a set of v6 kraton shocks incoming too. Something that may be contributing to bottoming out is the flex in the stock kagama tires. They give way, reducing the ability to keep the chassis off the ground.

The TC shocks were always leaking.
The Arrma shock rods are thicker.
Generally, the shocks on my Arrmas hardly ever have any problems, while the TC's kept leaking on me.

Rc's need to bottom out. You can spend a lot of money and things to try not to bottom out, but you will just damage shocks, shock mounts etc.

I get that. I was trying to help out the OP. Even with stiffer shocks, he may still bottom out excessively.
 
Yes, the chassis will still touch the ground, but if you take a Kagama, a Kraton and a Sledge and drop them from a height of 1 meter, the chassis of Kagama will impact much harder than the other two, even though the Kagama has the highest ride height. I hope it will improve with the EXB shocks.
 
And as you mentioned, the main problem probably isn’t the shock absorbers, but the very soft sidewall of the Kagama’s tires and I also just noticed they’re really unbalanced, I have a lot of wobble in the wheels, and I thought it was because of the play they had but I put the tires from my Outcast 4S on it and the wobble practically disappeared. So I’ll probably also buy Kraton 6S or Notorious 6S tires, which is a shame because I really like the Kagama rims.
 
I mounted the Kraton EXB V6 shocks and did the super scientific drop test in my garage. It slaps worse than the corally shocks with M2C ZRS shock pistons and emulsion shock bladders with 1000cSt fluid. Not sure what the Kraton comes with stock. The Kraton has 4mm shock shafts whereas the Corally has 3.5mm. The Kraton also has shock boots from the factory. The coil springs do scrape something and make noise, which is annoying.

EXB shocks stock oil is 1300CST, I haven't installed mine yet, but then, in your tests, the TC shocks are better and hit the ground less hard?

As a first impression, the EXB springs are thicker and stiffer, and at least when compressing by hand, they feel more progressive and with less rebound. Also, as I mentioned with the stock TC shocks, compared to a Sledge and a Kraton with a lower ride height, Kagama was by far the one that hit the ground hardest.

And sorry but English isn't my native language, I'm not sure I understood what you meant.

No worries about the language barrier. What I have found is that the kagama shocks are not better than the corally ones for bottom out resistance. My testing is not super scientific.

Arrma has a whole assortment of shock pistons with different hole sizes, you could try.
You could also try thicker shock oils.
And, as @BashingBrian said, the Fireteam springs are an even stiffer option than the Kraton's because of the heavy, caged, Fireteam body.
Be aware though, when you tune shocks for resistance against chassis slap, the overall handling will be crap for ground pounding.
