hey guys

i took my asuga out today for a blast around a bmx track, i noticed that the rear was getting alot of chassis slap, according to the manual it has 700cst oil in the rear shocks, would it be better to change to 800 or 900cst? i do alot of jumps with this car.
should i also wind the collar down a little aswell?

thanks

What helped out chassis slap a lot on both my Kagama and Spark is to replace the corally bladders with Traxxas ones meant for their maxx line of shocks. The corally ones allow oil to leak past, allowing too much air in the shock. This causes the shock to blow through the first 1/3 travel too fast which allows the chassis to slap.

The second thing I did was to add spring socks. The socks cause the spring to coil bind earlier and resist bottoming out the last 10-20% of travel. Another option would be to add a foam bottom out ring or fuel tubing to the shock shaft to dampen the last 10-20% of shock travel.

The manual lies shocks come with 600 cst oil from the factory. Also the Traxxas shock bladders work better than the Corally ones which often leak air even on first use.

Thanks, any idea which part number for traxxas please?

Thanks for that, it says they are not available to ship to my country (uk) do you know if the standard traxxas maxx bladders would work? I could get them quite easily i think

Search for the following in your country.

Never considered changing bladders might try that in my buggy they need refresh/rebuild anyway even with fresh fluid they still feel rubbish atm. But on my Asuga build gonnna try the sota shocks bit more of an expensive option. But cheaper than putting exb shocks on it like my Kronos.

The M2C ones leak out the bleed port for me. They should come with a nylon washer to seal the bleed screw.
Rc project have washer, I’d love a set of them on sworkz bbs shocks with the smc (super mirror coated) shock body but you’d be looking at over £250 for it all 😂
