So this morning, I was ready to drive my Kagama 6s.

I dropped my kid at school and went directly to the bmx site. I parked the car, I put the battery (freshly charged) in the Kagama and drove off.
I think 30 meters (we work in meters) from the parking spot, maybe less, my rear right wheel fell off.

So somewhere between parking to walking to the bmx site, I lost a wheelnut.
Apparently I also lost the 17mm pin.

Before the comments about the TC wheelnuts.
I bought the Arma serraded wheelnuts which became loose too (luckily 1).
I also bought some wheelnuts from Aliexpress, also serraded.

After this incident, I used the old TC wheelnuts with some locktite.
My question : what do you guys use?

I had problems with wheels getting stuck, or losing them. I stopped fastening them by hand. I have been using a torque wrench for a while now. I used to crank them at 8Nm, but i went back to 7Nm, because some hexes didn't take 8Nm. No locktite on the wheel nuts.
The hex pin has to be pretty tight and locktited too.

Never lose those 17mm pins again while using my 3dprinted hex rings:

My TC's are only 1/8 buggies/SCT and never have wheelnut problems, I gues, the bigger the wheel the more likely a nut comes lose? I tighten by hand, somewhere near 7-8Nm probably

Maybe I should have done that too.
We'll see, I have used the TC wheelnuts with loctite.
Just bash and bring a bag of wheelnuts and wrench with me the next time. 🤣🤣

I use plumber tape on the thread and then put the nut on, never had a nut come loose yet and that with using TC naff wheel nuts.

I still check them after evey run but thats just a good habit to get into :) .

I tighten by hand and do not use locktite on hex pins nor wheel nuts. Either Corally serrated nuts or Aliexpress serrated nuts.
Although Rotauq’s 3d print hex rings are great for buggy style wheels, do NOT use them on the Kagama wheels. Kagama wheels have deeper hexes than buggy wheels, so using those 3d prints will bind the Kagama wheels.

The question is did the wheel come loose and did the pin fly out or did the pin break and did the wheel fly off.
In the first situation the Kagama wheel hex will show some damage.

I think, the wheel nut came loose then the wheel came loose, the hex pin (whatever it is called) dropped, the hex adapter fell out.
I didn't look for the pin on the ground and went back to the (normal) car.

At home I took the spare pins (from the cvd upgrade) and used that one to secure the hex adapters.
I used the TC non serrated nuts with (blue) loctite lock the wheels.
Let's hope this will stay.

Teflon tape? Wow. Never in a million years I would have thought of using that.

Loctite was not setting up for me. Also nobody has time to wait for it to dry. Haven’t lost a wheel nut in nearly a year.

I lost a serrated LE nut on the second run from new. First thing I did on my spark is put vc3 on and I still have the non serrated nuts, well over 100 runs.

Thanks, need to find a supplier in the Netherlands.

You can use it on the shocks as well, if the caps keep coming loose whack a bit of that on the thread and they don't come loose again.

Alternatively, just cross thread the shock cap. It will never come off again.*

Did you try the thinner version as well? As i don't own a kagama i wouldnt know. The ones in the second tub are ~2 mm thinner.

I use something like this too tighten my wheel nuts, never used loctite. Never lost a wheel

If you're using something like this you're never gonna get as much purchase on the tool unless you put a bar or screwdriver through the middle
