Hey guys.
A week or two ago, i got the opportunity to buy another used Muraco roller. Thank you, Sandracer!
As i like building and upgrading and tuning, i like to get a nice chassis to build my own stuff on, since i will get rid of many parts anyway.
I wanted to make a Short Course Truck out of that chassis and my parts bin.
I had Radix arms and driveshafts and other leftovers from my Radix to Spark(ish) conversion, so i got to work.
I ordered a new Rocket 4292 motor and an XC esc C8 to try, and a Kagama chassis and Asuga hinge pin retainers, so i would be able to use Corally's system of screwing down bulkheads with 8 screws.
While waiting for the first batch of parts to be delivered, i started a full rebuild on the Muraco.
And then.......
Corally introduces the Shiroi!!!
A quick look on their site showed that car isn't that far off of what i am doing, so i immediately ordered the bumpers and other stuff.
So this thread will be about the birth of my Shiraco.....

"When done" may take a while, though.
This is my 3rd project this year. It's getting a bit expensive, all the parts, electrics, repairs and all.

It's running!
I still have to tidy up the wiring. The esc wires are too short, so i need to order an extension. Corally said my bumpers, side walls, towers, etc are on the way. When my order from JennysRC comes in, i will swap to the Kagama chassis. I'm not sure yet about the double rear composite braces. The new towers don't seem to accommodate those.
I may either drill in the new tower, or remove the braces altogether.
When the car is up and running, i will slowly but surely start upgrading to aluminium braces, steering deck and top arm mount.
The ESC seems nice. I like it so far.
If it turns out to be a quality product that lasts, Hobbywing may have fierce competition.
That motor is smooth. I only ran it indoors for now, but this combo looks promising.

The centre diff is in different location on kagama your gonna need front/ rear centre driveshafts also to put it on kagama chassis. But look fwd to seeing the build.

Oh crap. I didn't think of that.

You're right. It's more towards the rear.
So that's why the Asuga has so little room for bigger motors.
On the Muraco/Shogun/Kronos the motor is mounted far more forward. The front diff mount is almost touching the receiver box.
Also the Muraco's wheelbase is a tad longer. 385mm vs 370mm.
So, if all else fails, i can always butcher an Asuga.
I think the more front biased weight of the Muraco may be beneficial for an sct.

Shiroi parts are getting available slowly but steadily.
The wheels were on the Corally site this morning, so i ordered them.
Just now i checked for bodies.
I dig the red and white one, but it wasn't available.
And since we already have a 2 red and 2 green Corally cars, I opted for the blue and white version this time.
I am not sure i will keep building this thing on a Muraco chassis. I might change my mind half way into this project.I already have a Kagama chassis coming my way. I think i will let it depend on how the body fits.
 
Saw the front bumper fitted something else already be interested to see how the tires hold up

The kagama muraco chassis are the same length wheelbase just the layout within the chassis is different. The kagama chassis probably a bit stronger better suited for a sct it doesn’t taper in at the rear as much might stop bit more dirt getting in under the body
 
The Shiroi side guards and wheels arrived. The wheels have some off set, as opposed to other Corally wheels.
It makes the stance just that much nicer.
The guards seem to fit the Asuga as well.
That's good news for the people who have had to cut into their brand new and shiny Asuga side guards 😥, to fit bigger motors.
I may order two more sets just for that.
The Shiroi guards consist of three parts. As i can see on pictures, the third part, an elevated front corner that screws on top of the guard, is not yet available. I got the other parts assembled already.
The guards do not fit the Muraco chassis. The holes do not line up and the Kagama/Asuga/Shiroi chassis is wider, so the guards themselves are narrower.
I will try if i can get it to fit anyway.
If not, it gets promoted to Asuga part.
The Shiroi body is expected to arrive this afternoon.

That’s very interesting. I was talking about that last week with Rotauq, the unnecessary sharp angle of the side gueard. Always a shame to have to cut a new part. Good to hear there’s a new part.
 
I am afraid it is not a direct fit.
I put the parts next to each other today and the holes do not line up. Also the Shiroi parts are narrower.
