Hey guys!
I found a complete shop donor chassis from a Radix 6s.
It arrived yesterday and i have already checked the center diff fluid level. As expected when i turned the wheels by hand, it was almost empty. Right now i am filling it with 250k cst.
Front and rear diff are next.
I think i have everything needed to make it run, except a body.
Stock Torox esc and kuron 825 motor.
DS servo.
Flysky receiver.
Louise Pioneer wheels.
As with my other TC cars, i will probably keep the chassis as stock as possible, except for the braces and steering plate.
I intend to run this one mainly on 4s.
I Have CC 2650kv 1512 motor i can take crom a Slash. Any thoughts on that?
Does a Spark center brace fit this car?
Any other suggestions on compatible parts?

Congrats!👍 IDK if the chassis braces fit but find 4s to be plenty for a 1/8 buggy. Guess it depends where/how it’s used. I run a track with everything so I don’t need a lot of power. Or extra bracing. Looks great though! Enjoy!😎

If you go to the TC website and select a part from any car, you can see in the specs or details tab the compatibility with other cars. I don’t think the Spark center brace is compatible with the Radix.
The stock system on 4s is plenty fast for track racing. If not, just go to a bigger pinion.
250k center diff!? Looks like you don’t intend to use it on a track do you?

I should probably use lighter diff fluid, but the nearest track is Rot's private track.
All i have to run it at here, is a river delta beach or the street.

You could fit spark t2t brace but would need to change the chassis braces & top deck also as they all tie in together. See in the pics RCSpares has all bits required.

I created my own t2t for radix/python just adapted the lwb chassis t2t brace to fit. Lots parts compatible I’m in process giving mine a makeover it’s getting spark arms & few other bits pieces

I wonder whether a T2T brace is even needed on a 1/8 buggy? I only own one, a 2007 Xray, original chassis, no extra braces, still straight as far as I can tell. Different strokes for sure, but knowing I can buy the TC chassis for $40, I wouldn’t bother with extra bracing.

Don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer, I’ve saw racers even remove rear chassis brace on buggy’s help generate grip allowing chassis to flex, corally own race buggy sbx825 doesn’t have a t2t brace, I’ve saw some sparks where the brace has folded like a taco & I just like to modify & customise things, think it just depends on what you intend to use it for.

This car is light. So you guys may be right about that. I'll run it as is first.
Still thinking about the motor.
I may try the CC 1512.

I’ve saw a few buggy’s run 2500kv & still good for an easy 50mph plus so the cc 1512 be fine maybe just add a fan. Just run it until it breaks something being the older model those early top decks had a tendency to crack so if fitted the spark t2t brace this would be upgraded also in same move.

According to Castle, the 1512 is only rated for cars up to 4 kilograms.
That feels too close for comfort on the radix. Better leave that motor in the Slash then. After some searching, i found a Rocket 4274 motor in 2500kv. That looks just right for running 4s. I will be ordering one tonight.

Edit:
I ordered one.
I now realise i could use another for the Muraco.

I’ve been running a Turnigy Trackstar 6 pole 2560kv in my Xray for about 10 years now. It fell apart once, screws backed out of the end bell cover.. hmm, why it sound so weird? Oh my, the rotor is hanging out!?🤣 Fresh bearings and a couple screws fixed her right up! Good as new?
Keep in mind I’m a low fidelity enthusiast. It puts a smile on my face, good enough!👍

I got the front and rear 7075 braces.
Stupid me stripped one of the bottom screws. But it's in now. I probably won't ever have to take it off, so i'll worry about that later. I had to drill 2 more holes in the chassis, because the braces bolt in with an extra screw each.
Instead of t2t brace, i am trying the 7075 chassis stiffener.

That's an impressive service life for an electric motor! 🤩👌 Experience has taught me that motors work better with the rotors inside the can. Because I'm a professional! 😝🤣

I've been mightily impressed with my 4292 1780kv rocket motor. Considering it's 'low fidelity' price, it's powered my XTR to its highest speed - basically 69mph. I really want to get the speed over 70 mph. The chassis mods have improved 0-60mph, but have had little impact on top speed, so I assume this is a matter of requiring more HP in the chassis that can now utilise the extra oomph. Time (and ££$$} will tell.

Admittedly, I haven't exactly been in a rush to bolt more powerful stuff into my rig, despite all the chassis mods. But it proves that you don't have to buy the most expensive stuff to go fast or have a great time. 😎

My recent going back to the Kuron 825 motor has been great for 0-60mph runs. With twin fans on 13-46 gearing, it's rapid (beat my personal best) despite the slightly higher gearing and motor temps remained 120°F. Win win. Shout-out to the Louise street tyres that give greater traction than the Sweeps on the T2E.

My 1515 Castle in the T2E powered the Sworkz to a new personal best of 0-60 in 3.58s and the temps were 118°F without fans. Super impressed! The Louise tyres on the XTR are going to be bolted on to the T2E and I expect to beat my 0-60mph time by another 0.25s on exactly the same gearing and setup. 🤞

Yes, the Rocket Supersonic 4292 1790kv also impressed me. Excellent value dor money (so far). I did replace the bearings for better ones, as the bearings usually kill a (cheap) motor prematurely.

Yeah buddy! That Trackstar IS a Trackstar at LFWR!!😆
What’s even more funnier is I also have a Ten Shock 4274 6 pole 2200kv that’s even older, with waay more hours on it.
The Ten Shock and Trackstar undoubtedly came from the same manufacturer as aside from rotor/can length (Trackstar is a 4268) they look indentical inside and out.
Both have had bearings lubed/replaced (always on time too😂) over the years. Neither has ANY wrap around the rotor, the Ten Shock has “moving” pieces on the rotor..🤷‍♂️ How it still works is a mystery indeed. I will say, it’s fire in my ET48 being powered by a Torox 185 on 4s with 20/46 gearing.😎🍻

I just gave it the maiden run.
I got the suspension just right the first time. Some adjustments are needed to make it track straight.
The stock Kuron and Torox are nice in this car on 4s. The system gets pretty hot quickly. I am curious how the 4274 in 2500kv that i ordered will do.
I fitted a red Spark body. I might cut some vents for cooling, as i did on the Asugas.
This car is good!

hi. I have tried to fit the Spark bracing to my Python. It does not fit at all, I tried to modify it to fit but the couldn’t get the body to fit. Don’t waste your money on this. Buy the 7075 chassis and supports instead.

Thanks.
I have the Corally 7075 chassis support and f/r braces. I will keep the chassis stock and forget about that t2t brace.
I've only destroyed one chassis so far.
I landed my Muraco on a concrete edge, mid chassis. I got a TC 7075 chassis for it.
Even my heavy Mojaves are still ok. I slightly tweaked one of those chassis, but it's still usable. I think a light, SWB buggy will last. If not, there are ADU Spark chassis.
I am still figuring out how to upgrade the steering plate and upper hinge pin mounts, though. Those look fragile to me. So does the front tower.

Can you, by any chance, find the part number for that aluminium steering plate and upper hinge pin holder?
All i found is a carbon plate from TC.
