Not my Asuga I keep telling myself I’m going to get one But to avoid the wtf is that conversation I ordered corally 7075 parts, adu hubs & scorched parts hoping they slip under the radar . I’ll wait for corally to drop an xtr Asuga then I’ll have that wtf is that conversation 😂

This calculation takes into account sag but doesn't consider mechanical losses.

I'm working from home today and about to put the Kuron 845 back into the XTR for some 0-60mph runs....🤞😝

It's because I've got a 1780kv - I just assumed it was 1680kv. 🤭

And because it's a Friday! 🤣

My experience with the 4985 motors makes me think you guys are debating about pinions that are way too small.
A HW 4985 or a CC 1717 are similar and both have close to twice the power of a Kuron 825, and you are only stepping to a 17t or 18t pinion. I started with that, and i went up on the pinions until i settled for 21/46.
Anything less of a pinion hardly puts any load on those motors in an Asuga that isn't that big of a car.

I'd have to agree, I'm running a 17 on mine but considering I'm on 8s that already puts me just over 70mph which is more than enough for my needs in the asuga, if I was running 6s I'd definitely be bumping it up

I am saying this because, especially on 8s, you are about to unleash so much power so effortlessly, you are likely to spin that motor to warp speed. You might easily blow it up.

Yeah, I suppose if you treat the throttle like an on/off switch anything is possible
 
But perhaps this is why Angrysection8 is the Forums fastest 0-60mph guy, right? And pulls insane G? Because the gearing is set to effortlessly hit 60mph, but has to be unleashed..... considerately, to avoid literal carnage. 😝
Well that and I tend to make questionable choices at times, after all my best time posted on here was from pushing 6s through a little rocket 3665 in 2750kv, sometimes you just get lucky lol. But yes the power can unload rather quickly as @SirCrashALot mentioned, hence why I have faster times posted for my python on 6s vs my asuga on 8s, mind you they had a major difference in tires as well but bottom line I couldn't plant the power from the asuga nearly as easy as I could the python
 
For the input pinion on the diffs I used a 8x13 0.1mm shim and for the diff crown gear spare shims are in the wheel hubs.

Two shims are added from factory on the diffs but I added 3xshims to crown gear and 1x shim to input pinion,this after it's worn in so you may need less but check after few packs for gear slop.

After you shim the diff pinion it might feel little tight on the bearings but after 6 packs it's still working so I call that a win :D , after shimmering my rear diff the kagama is much smoother and quieter.
 
Been looking and about to pull the plug on the HobbyWing 1650 and Max6 G2 for the Spark then transplant the Sparks system to the Kagama4. I have 15t pinion ( Robinson ) in the Spark right now that even as many runs I have on it still looks great but I do have 15-18t Tekno pinions that I’m planning on installing soon. The spark is my do all for right now light bashing ( need taller tires before going harder ) track style racing around on Stock or Badland tires. Maybe y’all could suggest some wheel/tire combos that will better jumping wise. The stock and Badlands just don’t have enough to rotate in the air how I’m wanting, don’t get me wrong for what they should be used for there both great with a plus side to the Badlands much better grip
