Are these bearing shims for the diff?

Hi all

took apart my punisher4 front diff and forgot about these spacer things? theyre only on the left hand front axle. should they live in the diff as some sort of shim?

Yes, they are supposed to sit between the bulkhead and bearing. So basically on the other side of the plastic. They space the pinion and ring out so they can get a good mesh, which makes them last a lot longer. Look up a video for diff shimming, I would put them in the right place before the next drive.

Yes they need to be at the housing right here, don’t drive her till you fix it or you’ll end up destroying the housing and possibly some gears. Trust me it could look like this
