It just doesn't matter.....but actually, how fast is it? 😝

As per title - 3S, 4S, 6S, 8S - regardless of rig - post your top speeds, because this thread presents the questions we're all too polite to ask.

Enjoy! 🤩

I'll kick off with my rigs - as a carrot 🥕 - let's see who comes to the party....

Took the Baja 5B SS out today. The last time I took it out, it was cold and wet. Plus I had the E-clip depart from the spur. Very odd.

This run was much better.

Engine ran strong and crisp.

Beat both my top speed and my 0-40mph times. And yes - it was insanely loud! 😜😅

Dobbins were back at the site. Despite the noise, they loved the Baja and came over for chin rubs and sweets. 🤩

Well despite a head wind and slight rain, I managed 69mph in my XTR today:

At first I thought this equalled my personal best, but it turns out 69 mph is my new best.

The gearing was 19/52, using the 4292 1780KV motor. The gearing is at the limit of the XTR's range - it actually required some fettling with the motor mount to achieve correct mesh.

This speed was fairly fortunate, because the Torox was cutting out - limiting the current - during full throttle holds.

For this reason, I feel there is little or no incentive to change the 52 tooth spur to 46 tooth - yet - unless I change the ESC and/or motor.

The first couple of runs on my Onyx Graphene pack were my fastest. This time however, saw the motor get hot very quickly - after just 3 or 4 passes.

First 2 passes:

Then, after 2 more:

The first reading was over 160°F, but I didn't take the picture fast enough. 😬

The second pack was fun, averaging 35 mph whilst hooning around, achieving a 'mere' 68mph. 😅

Either way, a flawless performance from the XTR, without drama or glitches. 😎

So I tried a few runs up and down my road today with the 14t pinion (57MPH
6S) (38MPH 4S)

The launch time is much better which which is a 1 second quicker! but did blow hole in tire and rim came detached

I just Made my first 0-60mph run with my Kagama 8S and the road Trasher Tires (I damaged 2 Backflip LPs before and they we're hard to control on the street).
I hope I will get a better throttle finger next time but for now it was 2.99.

That's a very impressive run! It's hard getting that power down quickly without lighting up the tyres! Good job! 💪😎

And they said the Savage couldn't do 40mph.....pffff! 😝

Here my antique Savage amply demonstrates that not only is 40mph achievable - it can attain readily and rapidly.

Gearing 18/47
3 Speed Transmission
40 Series wheels 23mm hex
40 Series bowties tyres
STS D30M engine
