I'm not too thrilled with the stock tires on my Muraco: they don't seem to grip all that well on grass or dirt. If any of you have replaced the stock tires on their Muraco/Shogun with something more aggressive, I would like your thoughts.

I like the Mojave Fortress 6s. They're around 5.5 inches tall, pretty aggressive and very tough..
Also, have a look at the Jconcepts Landmines made for the Mojave. If you're looking to preserve the sharp handling of your Muraco, I suggest staying at 5.5 inches or less in height.

Some good reading here..

I saw a couple YouTube videos that one guy was running 4s Backflips on his Shogun and really liked how it handled. A seen a guy using Proline Badlands on his Muraco and really liked those as well... I was thinking of going with the Badlands on mine, they looked like they really grip..

I was going to mention both of those as well. The BF LP's are great, if you don't mind the 6+ inch height. My brother and I both run them in the spring when our clay track is still soft.
Which Badlands? Proline makes great tires for sure. The 2.8 would be closest to stock Muraco but the 2.8 inch wheel would require hub extensions. I think Proline offers an LP 3.8?

I have the Backflip LPs on my Maxx: they are great, but they are wider than I care to use on my Muraco. As for the Badlands, the MT version is too wide and for my taste, and the buggy version is too narrow. I have a set of dboot Copperhead tires from an Arrma Kraton 6s, but they are too wide and tall. I really want a true truggy tire.

I had totally forgotten about the dboot Katar belted tires when I first posted. The Katars are used on the Arrma Talion, a vehicle much like a Muraco/Shogun. They are similar in size to the stock Muraco tires, and they appear to have a more aggressive tread pattern. I ordered the Katars from Amazon, and they should be here Friday.

Good call. Alot of folks end up with an MT type tire on both truggies and buggies. To each their own of course. I always end up putting smaller tires on my "MT's".. I don't really bash in the traditional sense that most do. Sure I like to hit some jumps and such, but not into the huge air and multiple flips.. as such, I tend to be more about the handling. Smaller tires provide much more precise handling and less drivetrain wear I find. I have a set of the Katar T (non belted) as well. They are definitely a tough tire, with a nice size to them and zero offset which is important to me. Keep the Mojave tires in mind too, they are also a good size for truggy use IMO. Enjoy!!👍

The Proline 3.8 Badlands https://www.prolineracing.com/produ...-tires-mounted-17mm-blk-raid-2/PRO117810.html they are smaller than the dboots Backflip LP tires.

Badlands 3.8
Width 2.72"
Height 5.85"

Backflip LP
Width 3.03"
Height 6.1"

I received the Katar T belted truggy tires and installed them. Weather has not cooperated to really try them out, but the tread looks more aggressive. Hope to get a good run in tomorrow.
