Greetings
Seems the rear pinion bearings are shot and have caused the rear pinion and ring gear to wear down because out of mesh and give that lovely clicking sound when under load
. New ring and pinion gears ordered up.
I have noticed that the pinion gear with fresh bearings has a little bit a play in it when seated flush in the bearing, is it worth shimming that play out and put a 0.1mm shim behind the pinion? or do you guys not bother shimming that part of the diff?
The two shims that are on the ring gear from factory give good mesh so they are fine.
Probably over thinking it as the front is still like new and I have not done any shimming to that.
