I'm new here to the forum. I've been out of the RC world since the HPI Savage was initially released but a buddy of mine gave me a savage x ss, I converted it to electric with a HPI MLH2200/ELH6s takeout that I picked up on ebay for $80. I just picked up a green Spark roller. Man it's a great looking unit. I put my HPI electronics in it tonight as a loaner but haven't gotten time to use it yet. I'm pretty green in the RC space and don't know to much about what's good for esc's/motors as the last time I used an electric car mechanical speed controls were still a thing haha. Are the Kuron 825 and the MLH2200 pretty similar performance wise? I need to buy another motor/esc but not sure what to get. I looking around at HobbyWing's Max8 G2 4278 system. Are there any other systems I should look at?

The Corally Kuron 825 and Torox combo is a surprisingly potent pairing. The Torox does seem to be based on the Max 8, but as another member mentioned here on the forum recently - Corally optimised the firmware to squeeze every bit of power out of the 3000 watt Kuron 2050kv 4274 motor on 6S.

Sensible? No. It gets very hot🔥. But you can mitigate that by adding fans.

I'm now experimenting with a 4200 watt 4292 which is potentially even less sensible. 😝

Ps. Gotta love the Savage. Old Skool.
