Hello, I've been racing rc cars for about 20 yrs. mostly 1/10 2whl buggy. I decided to try bashing. I have a kagama 6s and looking for some help on a setup. Diff oils and tires mainley. The stock tires are awful. So what tires and diff fluid should I go with. Thanks in advance.
Yeah the tyres are super soft and balloon like crazy but that's what helps make it a back flipping machine. I am in the same boat looking for new tyres as back flipping is fun and all but they wobble even when on the ground and has got to effect the handling. Arrma backflips 6s look like cracking tyres for all round use.
I have only up the centre diff oil to 500k that has helped to keep the front down and reduce front tyres ballooning, seems to let the power shift about better between front and rear.
I drive my kagama on astro turf track and loose rocks / dirt areas. So far front and rear diffs are stock oils ( 20k front & 10K back ) they seem to work as a good all round set up. I might up the front and rear diff oils see if that helps out off road as it doesn't like drifting out of corners. I am still new to all this diff tuning
Thanks for the information. I'm running 30k front 100k middle and 20k rear. I'll have to try 500k in center diff and see how I like it. Are you running stock shock oil and pistons? I think different tires will be a game changer. I think I will give the backflip 6s a try.
It does wheelie easier with 500k but if your smooth on the trigger it gets the power down nice.
I use the Team Corally shock setting in the manual for off road use F : - 600cps & R:- 500cps ( stock pistons ) its much more smoother off road now and glides over bumps, stock 1000cps was good for jumps and was alright off road but as I like to drive the kagama more than jump it suits me fine
I have dropped the pinion down to 11t lots of torque and much easier to control only thing back flipping now needs bigger jumps to do to it, I may have learned this the hard way by slamming it into the ground far too many times at Christmas . I have a 12t pinion to see if that gives me best of both worlds of torque and instant back flip power!!!!
I,m gonna go with 200k center 50k front and 20k rear. As for the shocks I'm leaving them stock oil for now. I plan on sending it hard. Gotta get my ramp built. I see a lot of broken parts in my future I'm sure it will be a blast!
Sweep Road Crusher tires are alot of fun. I'm only driving on road and parking lots. At the moment I've got 10k 20k 7.5k (front to rear) thinking of trying 10k 30k 10k this weekend
