Asuga I found a nice deal!

Your Asuga looks neet. Upgraded hinge pin holders, metal bulkheads, 7075 and carbon parts and all.
I did the metal bulkheads on my Arrmas, because i kept destroying diff gears.
I think it is caused by the amount of flex in the chassis. I may upgrade the chassis plates.
I don't have that problem with the TC's. They are fine as is. I did bend the front tower on the Muraco. The stock one is thin as paper. So i replaced that one with the TC 7075 tower.
I may order another set of the ADU braces and another TC metal diff mount, to put in this one. It looks like that's all i need to make it (my) bash proof.
I usually only do upgrades amd mods when parts fail, or when i expect them to fail.
About the shock protectors. I like the TC ones better. The TC stand offs are fine with the 4mm bolt through the tower.
I broke an Arrma stand off and replaced two of them with TC. I drilled out the 3mm hole to fit them.
Not an Asuga its my Kronos but could basically do the same to an Asuga

23/46😳… if you have a nice flat open space than why not.👍
I ran 22/46 with way too big tires for fun once, on the stock 150a quicrun with 4082 motor and after a couple of minutes of cogging my 4s lipo was dead. Or maybe the 4s lipo was faulty I don’t know.
Ok. I think i just killed a Geensace 4s 8000mah with the Asuga on the current 4985 motor and 23/46 gearing. It got hot and won't balance charge in a normal time span anymore.
Also that battery didn't quite put out the usual power this last run. I did a second session with my second brand new Asuga with a same spec CNHL and the difference was quite noticeable. So much more power.
I am now convinced that gearing is too much. At least for running on 4s. There's no problem whatsoever on 6s.
I am going to order a couple of 21t 's

Bummer. I know you also run on sand. Sand is much more demanding (amp wise). 23/46 sounded very aggressive. With 21/46 it’ll still be very fast.

Way over geared on 4s & 46t spur imo even on a 52t spur that’s a lot(see gear chart) Though I killed couple gensacearespammers end last summer similar to you got Lipo got hot & cells weren’t balancing out the best but continued using them. I run on grass mainly not as demanding as sand but still puts a load on them, But 1 day I hit lvc & was too lazy to carry car back across the fields home(it was hot day) & knowing the cells would recover a bit a few minutes after hitting lvc I started the car back up and gunned it across fields. Cells hit below 3.0volts cells where well out next time charged & Lipo puffed up when used it again 🤦🏻‍♂️. I have seen a lot of people running gensacearespammers lately though them going bad seems to be bit more common these days, don’t know if gensacearespammers quality slipping 🤷. Last night took buggy out for 1st time since probably last summer & now my esc has decided try kill my Lipos, hit lvc & when hot home this is what I see, everything below 3.0volts and cells out a mile, put it on storage charge it recovered but it only took like 5mins( my charger ain’t that good skyrc t100) so not confident gonna last. So another set of Lipos dead probably. I’ve increased the lvc cut off & going to put Lipo alarms on them next run out see what happens.

I may have damaged that 4s battery by running it in the Mojaves. They are too heavy to run on 4s. They always got hot.
No problems on 6s with the same gearing.
Now i have the same issue with the Asugas.
They all have the 4985 motors with Max 6 or MMX8S.
I wonder where the phrase' Volt up, gear down' comes from, since higher voltage equates less amp draw. My experience thus far is that i can run taller gearing on higher voltage.
That gearing chart is for stock motor systems. I have everything overpowered, so my chart is trial and error. Lots of errors.

Your Lipos that didn’t balance out try charging them on a low amp, max I can do is 5amps on mine but charged them at 1amp to storage & balanced out, it takes hours but it has worked for now.

I could try that. But i think i'll just ditch that battery. It's at least 3 years old by now and it smells funny.
What app is that? It looks like it has a lot of good info. The one i use is just a speed calculator and they are bothering me with license nonsense.

That’s the app I had but it said it’s no longer supported & needed to upgrade to newer version hit the link got that one “ rc pit Calc pro “ it’s free

I had the same one. When it said 'pro', i assumed it wasn't free anymore and ignored it. Thanks.

Whatever got in there, it must have been jammed pretty violently, to leave a pimple like that. Yet the spur survived.

Should we cut that slot out?

That was my old buggy chassis, some chassis do have a cut out but didn’t cut my new one just drove it into a kerb on its 1st outing what else would you do to a new 7075 chassis 🤦🏻‍♂️ broke hinge pin holder in process.

Yes - a lot of chassis have it machined out for that very reason.

It's also why I run a shroud. Essential in my opinion.

Gutted. 😱

It happens. I get a horrible sinking feeling when something gets damaged. I hate having any kind of mishap with any of mine.

To be honest with you, I even feel guilty leaving them disassembled while I'm waiting for parts for them...🤣 It must be RCOCD. 😝

Me too. When i break something, i usually repair it, or i order the parts immediately.
I also have to have everything in working order. But lately it is getting expensive.
I told myself to not spend any more on expensive rc parts till after summer.
I will repair them one at a time, instead of ordering a heap of parts for all of them at once.
So i have 3 out of 7 cars that are not RTR, atm.
