I recently purchased a Kagama LE, a Kagama 4 RTR, and a Kagama 6S roller, as I knew the LE would not be used and put away to resell later.

I'm new to the hobby after a 40-year hiatus.

Pricing the parts (that I would prefer) would put the completed roller 280 AUD over the cost of the LE I purchased.

I would like your opinions: should I sell the brand new roller and just purchase another LE model to use, or continue with my build plans and have superior electronics?
Tia.

The stock electronics tend to run a bit hot and especially in a heavy RC like the Kagama.
Note that lengtwise the space in the Kagama is a bit limited.
In my roller I installed a Hobbywing system with the Max6 G2 with the G2 1650kv 4990 motor. I had to grind about 1,5 mm of one of the rear braces to make it fit. The G1 (or V3 as it is officially called) motor being a 1650kv 4985 motor will be a direct fit. The G1 system is a sensorless system, whereas the G2 is a sensored system. Also the Max6 G2 is a 200A esc, whereas the G1 is 160A.

Put the chassis and body to one side. Wrap in cotton wool.

Then use the rest of it with reckless abandonment. 🤩

Thanks for the reply
I have the max8g2s with the 4278sd on order,2250kv.
After pricing 7075 upgrade parts its become very clear the LE edition would be a much cheaper "roller"donor option.

Difference of opinion here, but I never understood not using something that gives you joy. I don't abuse stuff on purpose, but if something gets damaged by having fun that is just part of the hobby. Having unused parts, even if they are limited production, sitting in a corner would drive me nuts!

You can absolutely use it - drive it like you stole it. Just don't wreck the parts you can't replace. Simple! 😜

Yeah, obviously if you own a rig and decide to use it - if it gets scuffed and worn - it's on you.

But in this case, really besides the body (unique paint) and the chassis with the LE number - there's nothing else to worry about. So why use the LE chassis when you can set it aside? Ditto for the body. Makes no sense when there are literally 2 a penny items off the shelf that you could easily use instead to enjoy the rig - rather than completely and unnecessarily devaluing it.

Noone is talking about not enjoying something that gives the user joy. Just not using the chassis - because it can all be bolted on to the standard chassis which can easily be replaced without weeping and gnashing of teeth. 👍🤣
