Hey all,

I recently upgraded my Sketer to a 6S motor and ESC. I took it out for a quick rip and noticed the truck made a high-pitched whining noise. Within 2-3 minutes, I lost all traction. I opened her up and saw the pinion gear had slid down the motor shaft. Also, it was quite hot. I believe I had improper gear mesh set, which led to heat buildup, which loosened the threadlock on the pinion. Fortunately, the spur and pinon still appear to be in pretty good shape. Before I tried to set the mesh again, I was hoping for some advice.

When I originally set the mesh, I used the paper slip method TC recommended in the instruction manual. It seemed snug, with a tiny bit of play, and I thought I got it right. Obviously not. :(

Can somebody with more experience in setting gear mesh in these rigs offer some advice? Thanks so much in advance!

from my experience:
I NEVER use threadlock, a good hex key is mandatory (like always) and I really fasten the grub screw to the max.
About the mesh: the are tons of vids online how to do it.
About the heat: inevitable ;)
